Llama Build- Slowly....

ORO uturn steering. It's ok, definitely stronger than stock. Plus rod ends are generic so no ordering and waiting involved if one goes bad unlike currie.

And.... I now make horrible metal rubbing sounds. It was fine after my test drive earlier. I'll tear it apart again in the morning. The bearing was probably siezing.

Jb4x4 sells a bolt on dana 30 high steer arm that mounts in a similar fashion, but mounts the drag link in the same location as the wj, leaving you with a straight tie rod knuckle to knuckle. It's $150 but the jeep drove much better with it than it did with the inverted t it replaced.

Got a link? All the ones I'm seeing you have to log in?
Sorry for derailing lol

New shoes... So much quieter. 33x12.5r15 falkens. Good price and going to get the tread lightly rebate. Headin to Pinecrest for the day for a snowball fight and hotdogs!

Post updates and pics about 108 - is the snow level down to long barn yet?

We will be up on the clavey in 2 weeks...

So stoked! Landed not one, but two full time jobs! Ones sort of in my field and the other is a county position. Now I just have to decide on what to do! But hopefully I will now have time and money to get this thing where I would like it.

Thats awesome man! Way to go !

Thats awesome man! Way to go !

Thanks man. It's a good feeling knowing I will be starting a much better chapter in my life. I'm going for the private sector. Hoping it works out. And even if it doesn't, I'll have more experience and certifications.

Got to track down some front end clicking. I'm thinking ujoints, as it's harder to turn sometimes and seems to be dependent on wheel speed. Maybe unit bearings. Going to try to run to pick n pull Friday and grab a drivers side setup and refresh ujoints. I have some brand news 760 joints waiting to go in.

Near future: look into doing the WJ brakes or possibly looking into a better front axle with bigger brakes.

Climbed underneath the front today. After some poking and prodding, axle side trackbar needed a slight tightening and driver side ujoint is likely the culprit. So Friday go grab an assembly from pick n pull to accept 760 joints and just redo both sides at the same time.

Still haven't tracked down the clicking but that's more my fault than the jeeps. I've been busy all week with the new job. Which is so awesome. I'm finally out of my dead end Starbucks gig and using my degree. Maybe not to mine or drill for oil, but it beats making damn extra caramel fraps all day.

So plans for Sunday: driver ball joints, hub, and ujoint. Hopefully that takes care of it. There's some play in that ujoint. Front and rear drive shafts seem ok, and I greased the brake stuff 2 weeks ago and they appeared to be fine other than the knuckles getting groves from the calipers.

glad to hear about the new gig. I've been using my masters in Econ for about 6 years forecasting and mining big data and it is way more rewarding than being a bartender.

I also have way more money to blow on jeeps which is really the whole point of getting a good job.

It's going to help with the jeep money for sure. Single, no kids, and little debt. I get to be outside on construction sites testing soil and ensuring stuff won't have problems in the subsurface after it's built. So far I'm happy with it and for see that changing for a bit. I'm still considering a masters though. But this company may help pay for it,so that's another reason to like it.

Having the jeep for work is great. I can go pretty much anywhere to do my job and not have to lug heavy equipment up and down slopes or across muddy work zones.

Spent the weekend up by red bluff. Got the ball joints done, "new" PnP abs shaft/hub, and made rough plans for a front axle swap. Wired up a horn a few minutes ago. Next project is a new headliner and redoing the front windshield gasket.
