4.1 Engine Build

I thought I'd put this on here for those of you contemplating rebuilding your 4.0. I had one rebuild at about 175k, not sure I've had an electric speedometer since I installed a 4-1. It was done at a shop with a good rep, pretty standard, I had a HO head installed, I already had Mopar Headers, a 2.5-inch exhaust, and I had a bored T-body. It drove fine, no problem with passes on my heavy beast. However, the machinist must have been drunk, it went out quickly, went back to the long-time shop and it was out of business. Took it to a new offroad shop and told them to take the engine to a race engine shop I knew of, damn the cost. It was bored to 4.1, everything balanced, HO head was milled to 11-1, Hesco cam and water pump was added. I live at 6k feet so I've has a high altitude CPS for some time, only change to the electronics. It gets 12 mpg, starts right up, only gets warm going uphill in 4-lo at 11k feet. No issues summer or winter. I beat kids in Audies off the line at stoplights. It was expensive, but I've had the beast for 32 years it's a 90, and will have it till I die. D-30 alloy axles, E-locker, AX-15, 4-1, D-44 lunch box, 35's.20230506_124054.jpg
