Man, what a day

Ripped out the steering box completely off the frame (going toward the engine compartment not the fender side) Broke a crapload of grade 8's. All of us tried to 'C-clamp' it so I can limp back with no success. So nicely enough, Mike Cope offered to take his box off so I can install it on mine, get back to the trailer and pull it off. Then have someone drive it back to him so he could go home. sheesh

Damn man. Don't you always break something out at LCIR? Maybe your rig is :passgas: and you need to build a new one. J/K I think you should look into the SBS from JKS Mfg. I have seen a couple people that used it to repair damage from your same problem and also to beef it up before it happens. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned how crappy & topped out that stock steering was with a big coilover lift. Gotta allow for droop, not just ride height steering....

So what're you considering to fix it?

Im sure you did..(I know you cant help yourself but to nit-pick other people's junk). It wasnt stock btw, if it was stock I wouldnt be able to drive it at all :P I acually set it up to recieve over 6" of droop on the driver/knuckle side before limiting straps kicked in. Besides the point, Im probably going to go to hydraulic assist (I know how much you hate it , blah blah blah yadh yadh yadh) or full hydro. Not sure yet, still weighing pros/cons/price/etc...

You're right, no sense in debating what works & doesn't work. :speepin:

Glad to hear you've got it fixed, looking forward to seeing it wheel sometime. We're talking about doing a Shredder run soon, that'd be a fun one for ya.
