Lets Talk Evans Creek

I think Mark (Sniggs)and Howard (Hards91) will be coming up.

I forgot about the fire danger... :rattle:

Sorry guys, I cant make it. My engine front cover didnt come in when it was supposed to so it isnt on yet and now I just dont have the time to swap it out. Somethings got to give here, I'm having withdrawels!

It looks like Andy's riding shotgun and we will be meeting up at Safeway Saturday morning for a Saturday Only run.

To Recap-

See you all tomorrow morning bright and early!

-----Matt-----

10 AM is bright and early?

I'll only be able to wheel a little on Sunday (like an hour or 2) due to a last minute tasking at work.

Gotta get packing...

It's all relative, John. It's not 0-dark-30, but it isn't my usual "at the crack of noon" wake up time, either. See you tomorrow!
Must still be early, :chef: breakfast stuff still available at the big M :laugh3:

How has Andy been doing Mark?
Andy's doin fine. He's been really busy with a '65 Mustang restore. It's taken a CHUNK of his time lately along with his regular work.

Great news (for Andy), he got his Scrambler tuned a little better and will be bringing it along with us!

So...I will have an empty right seat if someone can't bring their rig but wants to go anyway (I'll bet there's a few of us with open right seats!). You can still meet up, and probably park in the lot at Evans (we ARE stopping for Permits, right?).

See ya's in the morning!
Mark & Andy

John.

I want to go with you. I have to be around to set up a Dog Kennel in the afternoon at some time. I am sure I would be forgiven if we could be back by 1 or 2 on Sunday.

What do you think? Where would be a good spot to meet before heading up?

I am out in Yelm. I might be bringing my neighbor and his cherokee. Don't know how his collection of safety gear is coming along.

Jason

Oops. I missed that John will be up on Sat and Sunday.

If I am able to make it, where should I pick up the permit?

Not all of us went,
I tricked them: :laugh3: I wanted to return some of the Lost and found stuff
I was a few minutes late ,sorry guys
I`m pressure washing the deck and some other sprucing up ,company coming from Florida and the place needs alittle attention.
Opps the wife cought me, gotta go

I need to stay home. Finish up odds and ends for my wife's business license and confront the neighbors about our dead cat.

Evans Creek - Pictures!

Well... A very challenging trip this was!
Some of these pictures are really blurred - I don't know why...

My rock rails paid for themselves SEVERAL TIMES TODAY!.

Just a few shots of my damage (minor). Tree root scored the right side and bent the taillight guard.

We all have some form of damage - some more than others. Frankly, mine ain't SHIT compared to this...

GI John Gave us a BIG scare when this happened (no injuries, by the way) *phew!*.

Rallied the troops, got a winch line on him and got him back on his feet.

Yeah...he's okay!

This was an educational (and expensive!) trip for all of us. Matt, ended up catching his rear hatch on a root and it RIPPED the door open. I didn't know these hatches were fiberglass!!

Matt also had to be towed out by Andy at the end of the day because he was overheating. He twisted an ankle and hobbled through the trails late in the day - Take care of that, ok Matt?

John didn't appear to get as much damage as one would imagine. There are some dents in the left side and his steering is out of whack a bit.

Scott, Andy and I took some cosmetic damage (Dings, Scratches and dents). Michael had Tie rods come loose on the way out tonight then he got a flat when he got on the pavement (holy smokes!).

Thanks goes to everyone that attended! We all watched out for each other's safety and really had a great time. Michael and Scott: Please tell your passengers how much we (Andy and I) appreciate their help today.

Matt: Thank you for guiding us to safety and I really enjoyed your Dad's company!

John: What can I say? You da Man!

All I can say is *wow* !!! You look like your heart really got started there John! :) Too bad about the damage all around, but I guess the real way to look at it is that under the conditions, it's good that the damages were as light as they were................ glass half full/half empty! :)

And good pictures, thank you for posting them!

Wow...looks like you guys had a great time! Even with the carnage!

I'm wondering if GIJohn's interesting custom roof rack with the side bolsters didnt prevent any more damage to his rig!
