Lets Talk Evans Creek

Alrighty....

Our NW Fest fireside chat revealed a desire to do Evans Creek. I'm game as long as I have a 2-3 week lead time.

Where is Evans Creek?

It`s on the west side of the mountains ,Hwy 410 to Buckley then follow Hwy 165 to Wilkeson,then on further.Anyway thats the area it`s in. Lots of chances for damage, lots of roots and holes,Might still be mud left.

I am all for it also, As is Scott who mentioned it to me earlier also.

I just need to look at the calander and pick a weekend that works for me.

Anyone have a preference of a Sat or Sunday. In general I prefer Sat.

I think we just need to decide which day in August and go for it.

I agree...let's pick a day and make it happen! I was out there Saturday, and there's not much mud left, so it shouldn't be too hard to navigate. Anyone with a couple inches of lift and decent tires should be able to make it mostly unscathed. Depending on how crazy you want to get, there are places where roots may nail rocker panels, but I've only got one scar from Evans in a dozen trips.

Either Sat. or Sun. work for me, but I too prefer Saturday. I'll be out of town the first and third weekends of the month, but otherwise I'm open.

Blasted saturdays. Thats one of the only days I can't have off. Sundays are always best for me.

Nothing says that we can't make a weekend out of it. I was hoping to camp out Sat night anyway. Nothing like mosquitoes, beer, and a campfire...it does a body good. Hopefully we can accomodate our Sunday off guys.

I'm up for anything starting the 13th.

I want to go. But it would have to be on a Sunday. Between trying to work this week around Jury duty, and the week I am taking off in August to go to MN for my wife, I can't take any more days off.

Before Evans Creek, I would need to get my Rock Sliders on, along with other skids. But time is limited. I keep getting called in and asked to work for other people on Sunday. Good for the paycheck, bad for my life.

If it is on a Sunday I will go.

Last note, my Jeep is bumpier than my car going down the road and my new steering stabalizer is on. Let's see how much it lasts before she falls apart.

Sounds like we need a work part at your house to get this thing back on it's feet!! What is going on with your jeep? What are the symptoms? What have you done to it?

PS. I am up for a Sat or Sun, but probably can not make both but no reason we could not do both for the people who want to!!

I'm down for camping Saturday night. I'm bringing my Dad (a devout Toyota LandCruiser owner) to show him what an XJ can really do. There's usually plenty of room in the camp grounds at Evan's.

And John, I'll make sure to bring some of that "Fancy, Enpensive" beer you liked last time!
