Keeping A Low Center of Gravity.

I've static flexed my 235 bfg at's (on stock wheels) into the flair, don't know if it'd be much worse on a big bump.

see, i usually got light on the rear tire before it hit flare/ fender... like they say every jeeps different maybe ur coils were softer than mine... i have a 2000 so im thinking my stockers are still in good shape

Sorry to raise the thread, but it inspired my build so far (saved in my favorites), and I felt I had to contribute.

Here's some pics of mine: 2in BB on 31x11.50/15 with 4.5 in BS. I got a bit of slicing on all four tires and some fender folding on right front fender (completely missing bumpstop). Nothing a 2x4 and rubber mallet couldn't straighten out........:gee:

Here's where the fender got massaged a bit:

Gonna trim some more and go 3.5-4.5 and 33's maybe then see where I need to bumpstop. Getting a welder soon to do the rear cut and fold/quarters...........party1:

your tire's and 2" lift look weird... i expected 31's to look.... bigger :dunno:
this is a 4" lift on 33/10.50's with stock wheels and trim
jeepnewwheels.jpg

fully loaded with camp equipment and new custom built spare tire carrier(so it sags a lil bit in the rear, but its a better side shot)

wrench monkey, i felt i cut and folded my rear fenders really well and when i looked inside my rear quarter panels there were still small holes where the saw went a touch too deep :dunno:

I'm on neg arched leaf springs and trimmed to the pinch welds on the rear, so maybe that's what looks so strange?? the 31's look fat sitting under it with only a 2 in lift IMO.........

WrenchMonkey- Depending on my buddy's welding skills I may not do the cut and fold, just a cut and weld, six inches at a time. I may not be doing te normal quarter panel fold as well. I just need to get the welder and see if how rusty he is. Also I would rather have the peice of mind on the cut and fold anyway...... MaxxXJ seems to have a couple places to drain water from in his fenders......

lol if it falls into my quarter panel area, there are drain plugs i can just unplug and let it drain out =)

did you do shackles or blocks in the rear? i remember my BB lift =) i did 2" blocks and 2" lift coils, its weird... no one wants to buy my 2" lift coils and all i want is like 20 bucks for them

I did Chevy/Dodge/Ford 1/2 ton leveling shackles in the rear ($40 at O-Rielly's) and coil spacers in the front.

Man I could have used those coils a little bit ago!

The title of this thread answers your question.

mudd he dont understand low COG, he has 33's on 6.5" lift coils and 2" spacers, with 2 LCA's with only one being a y link arm on the passenger side, but no y link arm on the driver side, one week he wants to build a jeep speed jeep and go out and jump it, then next a hard core rock crawler with a low COG and no protection like sliders or skid plates.

he's here to just talk crap to try and start crap...

Mabey this is a dumb question but is the half ylink a bad idea. minus one upper link isn't that essentially what the iron rock offroad system. Not deffending just asking for oppinions.

But y would anyone only want two inches is my question?

its not how big it is, it's how you use it

My front suspension has one radius arm and one long arm, what does that have to do with anything other than talking crap to try and start crap?
