Update?

[UPDATE]
Gerry will be going down to LA to sort the stuff out on Monday per his email to me. This "Hold Pending Sorting" thing has really tossed a wrench into the whole process and has slowed everything to a crawl. But as soon as Gerry gets this banged out everything should get rolling again. Sorry for any delays..... but its not in my hands!

Any news? Anyone seeing any 2500 parts poping up on cheezy overnight web stores or Craigslist? Gerry hasn't logged into Comanche Club to read his PM's in 6 days...

I don't see how someone who was supposed to go pick up an order on Monday can go an entire tuesday without posting here OR contacting the people who's order he has had for more than TEN WEEKS ALREADY...

I just got an email from Gerry (BajaMJ) stating the stuff was sorted by the shipping company :( by a detailed packlist provided by Alex Parts. He also stated he was going to get the stuff on Thursday (2/19). So I'll look for an update Thursday afternoon.

Plan 'B' if the above stall's. My buddy Jake has a friend down in Long Beach who can pick up the goods, provided I arrange the rental truck. Then I'll have to arrange some freight company to pick it up there and drag the stuff up to Spokane. Its still cheaper than having to fly down there and driving back with it in a U-haul. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Plan "B" goes into action on Monday (2/23) if goods are not picked up.

He hasn't read any PMs for quite a while, I have one sitting in my outbox.

I got this from Gerry just this morning.

Morning Steve,

As You were aware , stuff was delayed per sorting in Long Beach for a few days,
As per the 17th it was released, by the 18th it was sent to it's final destination : San Diego .

Yesterday I received the Final Invoice from the Freight FWD. King Freight That includes all cost on Their end. : $539.35cts
I visited the customs branch here in San Diego to clear the parts and then take such docs. to the Freight FWD.
BUT Now since the invoice amount for parts bought exceeds $2,000. Customs requires that such be processed thru a Customs Broker.... i have contacted a couple and assigned the work to one of them already.

As soon as they do their homework; I willl know how much It will be for custom duties (around 1 to 3 % ) of invoice per Broker)
plus Brokers Fee.

BALLPARK figure including the 539.35 I believe It will amount to around 900 bucks.

Good side is that storage is included in invoice up until march 3rd.

I'll advice.
Regards.
Gerry.

I did get the same message from Gerry, and it looks to be getting moving again. The crap part is that is really nobodys fault for the stuff getting hung up at the warehouse. It was not clearly marked and they wanted somebody to go down there and sort the stuff. Well thats hard since only me or Gerry can do it... would of been the same problem if we had the stuff go into Seattle because the first stop is in Long Beach / L.A.. I was also not aware that because of the value was over 2k that you were forced to use a broker. If you break down the total of $900 in charge's into the piece count (299pcs) it comes to a cost of $3.01/pr item.... so it's not as nasty as it sounds, but it still blows. But if anyone in the future does it that is something to keep in mind! Remember this is not what Gerry or I do for a living and we have plenty of other iron's in the fire so sometimes it's pushed to the back burner until we get a free moment. And its been quite the learning process getting stuff imported into the country. If you got any questions just let me know.
