Hey guys, not sure if im posting in the right part of the forum, but couldnt find anywhere else, so here goes. Just introducing myself, names Travis, local socal resident like the rest of you. Looking to get into wheeling and I know the XJs are among the best. Just here to learn as much about them as possible while i continue shopping around. Neighbor has a nice one sitting under a bunch of crap in his garage that I'd like to get but so far no luck. A little back ground on myself, im 25, born in oregon, but raised in socal and texas. ford diesel mechanic, got a 2000 super duty with the 7.3 thats my current baby, but now time for a rig i can have some fun with. any help, advice, opinion, etc that anyone is willing to offer me, im all ears! thanks and i look forward to getting to know you guys!

Welcome...lots of info here. I also suggest getting ahold of Eric Zappe's book, the Jeep Cherokee builders guide. It's a good source of info. He's "EricsXJ" on the Sierra Chapter...

Welcome! NAXJA is full of information. Remember also this is a club with a forum, rather than the other way around. We certainly do use the forum to communicate and share information, but consider trying to come to a Meet and Greet, to meet the folks in person. That's where the true nature of the club comes out.

Good luck on your quest to find a decent XJ!

Welcome to the site, good luck on the xj search!

Where are you located, Having problems with my 05 f250 and looking for a shop to get it worked on.

whats going on with it? maybe i can help you out. im guessing its a 6.0? LOTS of exp. with those.

yep the 6.0 lol

getting p0271 p0277 injector codes, need to find shop or something near by.

trouble code injector 4 and injector 6? have you replaced any other injectors yet? how many miles? has the ficm been replaced? what shape is the wiring harness in? an easy thing to do yourself that could save you some $ would be to check all the electrical connectors for the ficm and injectors yourself. the connectors are prone to becoming loose as they become old and brittle. i would recommend taking it to ken grody ford and requesting chris reeves work on your truck, or hemborg ford in norco and ask for al rodriguez, both excellent techs who have forgot more than ill ever know about ford diesels. i work in a fleet center, or id tell you to bring it to me.

Welcome!

Keep an eye out for a Meet and Greet.

What type of wheeling do you want to do?

You could buy some tickets for this

im thinking i may just want something solid overall (if that thats doable) for a little trail riding and mudding. what years are the best overall to start with? does it matter? ive read only get the 4.0 and not the 2.8 v6 or whatever it is. im pretty open with the truck overall i dont even really care if its able to be registered although it would be nice then I could use it as a back up rig when the super duty is down, but if it needs to be trailered im ok with that too.

he linked to the members only forum, it was a link to the page about the XJ we're building to give away at the 2013 fall fling in moab this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the XJ.

here is a page you can view: www.GiveAwayXJ.com
