Completely understood.

On the other hand, you need to bring better tools to the junkyard I think, my cheapo Ryobi cordless angle grinder ($40 for the grinder, $60 for battery and charger) and my high lift have the heavy lifting of pulling an axle out of a jeep out of the way in 15 minutes with almost no sweat :)

I pulled a 4.10 29 spline 8.25 a couple weeks ago, walked in with just an 18mm gearwrench, 5/16 6pt 1/4 drive socket and ratchet, my angle grinder, and high lift and had that axle out like it was nothing. That angle grinder and high lift have earned their keep many times over by now.

Supply and demand.

I visit the local pick and pull every couple of months. I get a small cart of things that I sell on ebay for way more than I would every sell here. Throw it in a flat rate box for shipping and my paypal pays my registration fees for NAXJA events.

I disagree. There are 3 types.
The third type is the guy who has waded though fields, laid on thistles, got rained on, soaked in mud, and strained just about every muscle they have to get a part our from under a vehicle, haul it a 1/2 mile down a hill in the middle of the nastiest weather a place like WI has to offer, and figures that if someone else has already set up a little business on the side, just support him.
 
speaking of parts rigs...

i've been trying to make arrangements and i think i finally have it set for tonight, but i'm heading up to mass to buy a parts rig. 99 xj with running motor, tranny and tcase. has 163 on the clock but the steering is dead. 5" IRO lift with long arms installed in the last 6 months. aftermarket bumpers, steering parts and a few other goodies. header panel and doors appear to be fine. tires are shot, but has a decent set of aftermarket wheels on it. good lift gate and good interior bits. guy claims it just needs a steering box, but i dont' care. for $800 if i get the long arms off of it and the bumpers are actually set up with good tow points then i'm a happy guy...if i make some money back in the process (shouldn't be too hard) then its all a bonus from there. I will probably steal the 30 off the front as well. Im hoping i can part it out and have enough over what i spent to get an artec truss for the 30 and maybe the gears that i found on clist (new in the box motive 4.10's). if all goes well i should be in great shape here soon

Just made a rental agreement with the super intendent in our district. He's renting his parents/childhood home since they died, he couldn't let himself sell it, so he's renting it purely to keep it occupied. 1300 sq ft, 3 bedroom all electric on 1.9 acres with 250 feet of shoreline on the Apple River. $650/month and any improvements I make get deducted from that months rent.

I will, but what you can't tell from the pictures is the house is 60-80 ft from the river at least and sits about 30 feet higher (its on a hill). If it flooded, the neighbors would be 15-20 feet under water...
 
This is the half-way point (ish) between the river and the house, the hill continues to the right another 20 or so feet...
