Important

I think you will need the spacer...from what I've seen the guys who have 4-4.5" of lift wind up sitting just right with stock control arms and drop brackets. What's wrong with another 1" of lift :)

This.

Wife's jeep has ACOS set at minimum and RC 3" springs, RC drop brackets. Control arms are level.

Do you need condenser end or body end?

Condensor end, but if both ends have them I'll take those too. This one had none on it.

thanks

I have some 2" spacers that are just sitting around, I may just cut them down to 1" once I get some DB's.

What do you guys think the market is for a 8.25 29 spline drum brake axle?

Fully assembled with little to no work needed, $100? More for brand new brake parts. More for limited slip. More yet for a working limited slip :D

I couldn't sell mine local for $50. I scraped it. I'd say 50-100

HMM i will prolly just keep it then, it needs a new pinion yolk. those are like 40-50 bucks so id have to deduct that. that puts me down to the ****itilljustkeepthe****er range.

wait....i didn't think about this till right now...

i have a front standard cut d44 from a chevy with 4.10's...i've been trying to trade my 4.88's for a new set, but is there any reason why the gears from my gm won't work on a rear 44? from what i've read, they are the same...hmm.

Going to look at a 99 xj sport later this week. Nice body, minimal rust, 192k on the clock.

The seller stats that it would 'get hot'. I don't know if it overheated or what, but I plan on checking coolant, radiator, water pump, hoses, and any other cooling related parts.

The price is right ($700), even if it needs a motor, which I have.

Anything else I should check?

check if its an 0331 head...some 99's have them. if it "got hot" and is a 0331, there is a chance it could crack. other than that, if it runs and is solid thats a good find.

What's the best way to see if it does have a 0331 head?

it should be stamped on the head, but you may have to wipe it off to see it. im not exactly sure where its stamped, but its somewhere on top iirc.

It's cast into the top of the head right outside the valve cover, somewhere in the middle on the driver side. I forget exactly where.

they are $10 at the junkyard... Total bastard to pull under a car though. I had to borrow a cordless impact.

I have never spent more than $50-100 on one... they are $100 at the far-away yard (45min drive) and $130 at the local one.

:dunno:

I was only talking about the yoke when I said $10, that'd be insane if I could get whole axles for that.

Getting fed up with this f'ing ZJ. First the rear d'shaft is sketchy on spline engagement, and now after swapping the front yoke (thanks Tim aka poorboy87!!) the front donor shaft is 2" too long.

I know it is dumb stuff that is easily remedied, but this on top of all the other crap wrong with it I'm about to say heck with it and look for a 97+ XJ or TJ.

:smsoap:
