Important

These are U-bolts from Napa 9/16"x3.37"x10" with the included hardware. (I added a 2nd washer to each side.)

It's done. Time will tell who was right and who was wrong.

I would have JB welded the axle to the leaf springs

just weld the overload leaf to the axle housing.

For those that didn't see it on FB, my garage was broken into sometime between Monday and tonight. Took my entire tool box... $10,000 in box and tools combined... Accumulated over 6 years... I feel like part of me has been taken...

hit all the pawn shops, start checking craigslist religiously, take those assholes down.

A friend of mine just helped the police successfully recover somewhere between 2 and 4 thousand dollars worth of tools he had stolen from his shop. They told him not to bother, he was too pissed to do nothing and went for it, they busted the guy and apparently he'd been stealing from lots of other shops too and was selling to basically every pawnshop in the area claiming his dad's shop was shutting down.

damn dude...that sucks. really sucks....

like ken said keep your eyes on the obvious places. good luck man, i would be beside myself

Same... it took me quite a while to get over the theft of my $1000 tool collection (that's about all I need, really) this spring. I was an idiot and left my entire toolbag in the bed of the MJ parked in the woods behind my house, thinking none of the local hoodrats knew about the little dirt road I use as a driveway. I was wrong.

Never recovered. I keep them locked in the dark tinted XJ or in the house now. Reminds me, I need to etch my initials into every single damn tool I own and write the serial numbers down still.

Some genius needs to create a Snap-on quality tool company and serialize all their tools. It wouldn't cost much to put a serial number on them. Then you would have a way to track them.

All paperwork/receipts were locked in top drawer. I'm calling my tool-truck vendors tomorrow to see if they can print off my purchase histories. Checked my renters policy will cover $15,000, so I should be good... As long as I can get those purchase histories...
