mac, did you taper that parking sopt to slope down hill a little bit for drainage?

you will need to get a new windshield gasket for when yo replace it...and good luck getting it without breaking it if you have never removed a windshield.

I have glass coverage. maybe it will get a chip and i can remove it, fix the rust then have the window guys put a new one in.

I have a windshield tool. I removed my own windshield on my 99, fixed the rust and then had the pros come in to replace with new. not tough.

I think that ditch needs a jump, evil macgyvr then can jump the the grand ditch in a go kart. I will show the the party again just to see that.

"would you do it with a goat". If it were phrased, "would you do it with a sheep", then the answer would be "yep, already have".

I have come to the point where I am just sick and tired of turning a wrench on a jeep. I will fix the van and that is it. My jeep is staying home as it needs way to much work to make it wheel decent. So, fix the van this weekend, order a diff cover for the wifes jeep, and load shit up. I am getting worried about the trailer I am borrowing. I don't think it will be ready in time to use it, which means Josh is out of a trailer to use.

What's the tool look like? how much?

I forgot you did that.

Somebody bring me back down to earth. Bought my trailer from Kaufman two years ago for $2100. Most of you have seen it.

Why on earth would you use 12 ga butt splices as wire nuts on the wiring (both wires stuck in one end and crimped and the other end left open) and then electrical tape them on a $2100 trailer?

Is that sort of thing normal? Maybe I'm being too anal by using the right splices and heat shrink.

My grandpas 18 foot was the same way when i rewired it. He bought it brand new.

*WHAT*? That's not right. I'd probably be thinking about rewiring the trailer at that point, who knows what else is wrong?

I paid a bunch more than that for my Load+Trail trailer a couple of years ago. Then again, I also paid for a full 102" width, drive over fenders, 2 5/16" adjustable coupler, and a full 10k weight rating. Fully painted top & bottom.

I think that Load+Trail uses automotive urethane paint. I've got over 5,000 miles on it, and the paint is holding up nicely.

A dollar general rattle can would have held up better than the shit that was on their. He did buy it in Alabama though when he bought his 63 ford galaxie, but it only saw salt twice before we repainted it.

Down2earth...didn't they make that two place?

My single place was hand built in 2002, I helped, I then bought it in 2003. I'm on my 4 or 5th set of tires, 2nd or 3rd set of axles? I'm pretty sure its got over 100k on it. It needs completely repainted again.

The scotch locks we used are still holding up...

Sweet River

I can't remember who makes their frames, but they finish them. When I looked at their trailers, they cost another couple hundred. In hindsight, they put together a really nice trailer with the nice options included.

Kaufman has a good reputation around here. I was really surprised to find a hack job on the wiring for the lights.

The official manufacturer on the title and the insurance was down2earth. So maybe they made the frames...my understanding was that sweet river was the dealer...at least that's how it was done when I had a loan on it.

That trailer had conduit in the back that the wires ran in. A buddy borrowed it and went to Texas and lost the tail lights, somehow he tore them out...like a good buddy, he had it fixed before it was returned.

I always thought that Kaufman was a good brand name trailer.

I also thought that about Haulmark too...
