Important

Noticed today on the way in to the office that a small driveline shop has closed. I can't say that I'm surprised. I stopped in 5 years ago to see about getting replacement u-joints for a 93 ZJ front driveshaft...... $250 just for a standard u-joint and a double cardan kit. No labor, no balancing, just the parts. I'm more than willing to give the local guys the business but that at that rate.

The shop that I took the Dodge to for an alignment this morning...Good shop, very fair rates, and willing to get it right. And no problems with me walking down into the pit and talking to the mechanics.

I went through the same thing. had a local shop quote a new shaft and the quote came back about $200 higher than tw. I couldn't justify it to myself to stay local.

front fenders.....or have the Mrs make a bikini out of them and post up pics :dunno:

That is the best cl ad ever!

If it wasn't screwed up in so many ways I would be tempted to buy it and fix it, just because of that ad. I mean, I was eyeballing repairables when I ran across that, but that's a little more than I'm looking to get myself into.

My theory is that it started with an intake leak, then enough coolant got in the oil to wash out the bearings, then the knock started, then finally a rod let loose hence the trail of oil leading potential buyers to their driveway.

Probably. Reminds me I need to tear down the 3.4 in our Montana before it does the same thing. 197k on OG intake gaskets is a loooong time, it's a ticking :explosion at the moment.

Been there, still there.....

This made me LOL for some reason.

I can't wait to fly over that ditch in a go cart.
