No more bonnie

No more shitty pic of this jeep! :D looks good man!

I worked at a GMC dealer in the mid to late 80s.
They sold those crappy conversion vans.
They were all wired by 8 year olds, form the factory.
I do believe that those places, trailer manufacturers are no exception, buy connectors and wire and tape, what ever in bulk and use up everything before ordering more.
I saw running board lights connected with scotch locks.
I am sure they never expected any corrosion from the road salt.

Just rode my bicycle a mile. I feel like I could die. I really got out of shape. I am a marshmallow.

Im ready to start riding again. I dont ride much but Im wanting to start.

Spent the last couple days catching up on the jeep. Got the passengers floor seam sealed and painted. Patched my seat pivot bolt and got all the interoir in it.
Installed my CB today and I can transmit out I think. I can get my voice to interfeir with the shop radio but I dont hear any static or anyone talking. Its a cobra 29 classic.
Any thoughts?

How much riding are you going to do be doing?

Really, just around 3-4 miles and at most 15 (length of trail in tH) and it is mostly flat. I need to lose weight and I can do 3 miles riding easily. I walked it once and it felt like I had done much more then just walking.

got a hot tip from cheezeman about a pretty neat pick and pull halfway between us. found a fender for my j10 to pull and possibly some d30's with 4.10's

im assuming theres no way to tell without pulling the cover...there were 3 v6s and one 4 banger. unfortunately the only 2 that are non disco are the v6's...it was a cool place for sure though. i've never seen that many trucks at a pick and pull. they have about 10 xj's and 4 manches...3 full size waggys and 2 j trucks. i could spend days there

yeah...i think most of them were sitting on flat tires...i may just pull the cover on the 2 non discos to see whats in there.

they did have a front skid and a gas tank skid too in case anyone is looking

V6 trucks are 3.55's, 4 bangers have 4.10's yet the 4 banger is more powerful.......fml!

thats what i thought...i messed up big time in october by not pulling a d30 with 4.10's at a yard when i had a chance that was non disco. i was leaving for nyc the next day and only had an hour to spend at the yard...got it halfway and gave up

If you plan on doing serious riding steer clear of the walmart bikes. They wont last.

^ This. Also Wally World doesn't do service either, and it's common practice of some bike shops to be less than kind when you bring in a Wal-Mart bike. It's not that you didn't buy it there, it's because they are such a pain to work on. You can find something from a major manufacturer with nicer parts and a warranty for not too much more. Just my .02.

we drank in my trailer tonight

mac 'good times' gyvr

^like. This will be us in less than one week!

My bike is a cheapie. I bought it used from my brother for $40, it's hard to ride but it has shocks! :D My feeling on cheap bikes are that you don't have to ride as far to get a good work out. And as far as service, I've built my Jeep, I think I can handle working on my bike by myself. Just sayin.

I'm not planning on riding too far, it's not for enjoyment. My enjoyment has engines or a p.....

I have a $1400 bike in the garage I never ride. I discovered internal combustion.

My WF prep plans have been thwarted today by a 4 yr old with a fever. When he feels better, we'll go outside and get some stuff done.

4cyl with a 5spd has 4.10s. Most 4cyl 4spd had 3.55s... if you find a 4spd auto CHECK THOSE GEARS they are probably 4.56s. I missed out on a 30 from one of those a few weeks ago for the same reason, I only had an hour and was going to nyc.

Cordless sawzall with a spare battery or two is one of the best things I ever bought for junkyard runs. I used to pull axles like a pro, way faster to cut the control arms, cut steering adjuster, usually cut trackbar mount, then unbolt shocks and cut brakelines and the whole thing just drops out. Wish I could find my charger, it disappeared when I moved.

Pawn shop. My Nishiki was $40, needed tires, a chainring, cables, and some basic maintenance. I was riding again for about $100. I'll take a bike to the LBS for service at about the same time I start paying the Jeep dealership to work on the XJ...
