Sometimes the size of the flare causes leaks. If the double flare isn't pressed down all the way it won't seal, if it is uneven, it won't seal, ISO vs. SAE is defiantly another option, check your tool and make sure its the proper style flare you're making.

Last fall I started my jeep up, drove down the block, turned the corner, and it died. No warning, no starting afterwards. Replaced the CPS and haven't had issues since. If you do that and it still doesn't fire then check the Cam position sensor in the dis. IF that is good, its the ECU. I've had a bad string of luck with friends jeeps and ECU failing...

First time I've ever seen soo many help posts in the Important thread... Kinda interesting to see...

I pulled it apart to get the visa grips in there and tighted the shit out of the fittings...so far no leaks. took a hot lap after bleeding the brakes and it definately stopped better...pedal felt like it went down farther than before so i rebled them again. seems to be good. no leaks.

I think the orginal lines that went into the abs pump were iso cause they had very odd looking flares on them. the lines that went into the proportioning valve used normal to me looking fittings.

Dad borrowed it back again. So for me to wheel it I fixed the loose track bar, then the brakes that had slowly been getting bad...and Dad borrowed it back. Before you know it the thing will be nice to drive on the road again.

Back in the early 2000s, I made a mount and put a vise on it once that fit into a trailer hitch.

We broke the vise.

Found a 8ft pop-up camper and an 8ft pop-up slide-in, for about the same price ($600-700) and both appear to be in pretty good shape. The end goal is a bigger GN trailer with a camper (sideways pop-up or slide-in) and one vehicle on it.

If I get the pop-up, I have to wait to get a bigger trailer to use it. But with the slide-in I could have near-instant gratification. Not really looking for anything fancy, just a place to sleep that doesn't involve setting up a tent.

I'm trying to keep up with the rest of the MWC, with their deep pockets and deluxe set-ups.

Any complaints about it being up high or up in the wind? Was thinking a sideways pop-up camper down on a low trailer would make for pretty easy towing and be negligible on mileage. I guess the slide-in may end up on a trailer eventually.

I lost a brake line in the truck Sunday night, once that's fixed I will make a trip and go check this thing out. If it doesn't come with any equipment, what's the minimum I need to safely transport this thing back home? Some lumber to set it on to make sure it clears the cab and a couple ratchet straps to hold it down?
 
I'm guessing with the f350 I'm losing about 1-2 mpg possibly with the truck camper. Mine has the popup roof. Its worth it not to have to sleep in a tent. I'm considering a wing. The slide in could end up on the trailer too.

They all should have jacks to support the thing. The older it is the more likely that it only has three jacks. If it doesn't have extensions for a dually you might have to be creative getting it loaded up. I used a strap from the eyelets on the truck camper to my frame to get it home without issues. You may or may not need wood in the bed to keep it over the roof of the truck.

Tent camping hasn't been bad so far, other than last Winterfest. The big problem I have is usually rolling in late and I'm ready to crack open a cold one, not screw with putting up a tent and inflating a mattress.

Not sure on the year or what it has for jacks, after I get the truck fixed I'll be giving them a call. If the jacks won't work for a dually I will have to figure out something different or get extensions, not just for the first trip but permanently, since I am planning to take it out of the bed when it's not in use.

I really just need to find something before next WF, but if I can find a deal I'll jump on it now.
 
I made my own extensions. My camper is in the truck from March til...November or December...

low budget and it works great! Trailer and camper and I am in it for @ $5000. It is nice to have the opition to drop the trailer and have the truck to run around in if need be. And I still have a usable trailer for all the rest of the year for multiple purposes...i.e. hauling my friends crap around! :D
