For what it's worth, the new 6.7 will have enough torque to rip a McDonalds in half, get about 20MPG at GCWR and be quieter than a Honda at idle.

...yea, I saw bigfoot driving one yesterday....

I will believe it when I see it. As an $8000.00 option it ought to get 50 MPG.

I know I have not been on here in 5 months but I'm thinking of giving up on the Jeep thing. Please talk me out of it. Since I've bought my house I have no disposable Jeep money. I have not wrenched on the Jeep in 10 months, other than an oil change. I have my lift kit sitting on the floor of my garage STILL! The Woman wants something bigger for a family vehicle and I have been selling all my toy's. In fact I'm already getting ready to add a 30x36 addition with a full basement soon. I FEEL LOST.

Every man needs his hobby, you need to decide what that hobby is... It's okay if you have to go for now... We know you'll be back :D... Life's full of tough choices, this is one of them...

Guess for now my hobby is work. Logged 55-60 hour work weeks the past three weeks. I've also cut 2 cords of firewood this past week and have started laying out and drawing the addition to my house and removing the deck from the front of the house. If I park the Jeep and put it on blocks what should I do if I'm not going to drive it for a year or so? It used to be the family vehicle and I'm not into buying anything else for a family vehicle. Although the Woman wants me to get a four door pick up or a Tahoe type vehicle.

I'm not trying to complain as I feel very blessed. Just trying to justify hanging onto the Jeep and not to sell off what I have into the hobby and let it wait till I'm ready. Only thing I need for the lift would be tires and flex brake lines. That's why I'm fighting with letting it sit or sell it and all the parts and start over when the time is right. I just do not want it to rot away waiting for me.

You seem to be getting a lot of odd things in the mail...

Can anyone here explain why I received an "instant bathroom and household safety bar" in the mail today? This is some sort of joke I am thinking?

Hey Griswold, where do you think your gonna put that thing?

Just spent some time on Ford's site pricing out a '11 SuperDuty. For a pretty modest F250 XLT crew cab I finished up at $46,500. The diesel is now a $7700 option.

macgyvr doesn't even want to see what the new F450s start at...

I'll start planning to pick up an 2011 model in about... oh... 2020.

Yikes, I'll build my jeep up some more, buy a used dodge, and a grand national before I pay 50k for a truck!

I say, if possible park it indoors, take the gas out, and block it. Put all the lift pieces inside the jeep and let it sit till you have the time to get to it. It would just suck to get the itch in a year or two and have to buy another jeep and all the parts again. Ha, I still have the seat brackets you wanted.
Or just give me a call, set up a time to take it to my place, and we can install everything needed.:D I think I might even have the braided stainless brake lines you are looking for. Have to look. Good luck in making a decision, it is a hard one.

FWIW, my 94 2dr has seen minimal use for the last 5 years, more just a parts runner than anything (doggone it, that has GOT TO CHANGE!)

I'm finally at a point where I can start some upgrades. I have a rear D44 in the garage, just started ordered the tools to rebuild & regear it.

Edit: re: storage.... I tried to keep a full tank of gas in it, along with Sta-Bil, and kept a battery tender running on the battery. Started up after sitting for 6 months before it had completely spun over. Minorly rusty brakes that took care of themselves in short order, no clutch or transmission issues, no coolant problems.

Victory in the world of my XJ today...I finally got rid of my heat soak miss. Dammed Fraud injectors...Its just a temporary fix, used Renix injectors. I'll get a set of the right ones sooner or later. Im gonna try to start getting to LKQ once a month or so. I've got a lot I want to do to that thing.

I put a SuperChip Programmer on the Dodge. It makes quite the difference in performance. Plus a little puff of black smoke never killed anybody :D

figured out what was wrong with my jeep. itll be back on the road soon. gonna make it doorless next week hopefully. located an 8.8 out of a mid 90`s explorer. gonna swap that in this summer

If it helps, I am always wanting stuff for our house, but would not want to part with the Jeep. It probably won't cost too much to store until later. It will be waiting for you.

Keep it. Usually once a week I find myself unmotivated at work or distracted by the Jeep, and I'm tempted to take it out to the storage lot and leave it. Maybe find yourself a storage place in the area, I pay $25/month for mine. Out of sight, out of mind.

After a dozen and a half hard lessons, I have learned that selling a vehicle always costs you money in the long run. I can't count how many vehicles I've ditched just to wish I had them back later.

But definitely with all of the stuff going on in your life (especially work, which pays!), find a place to stash it and until you have a ton of free time, don't go near it.

But I suppose if you're like me, as soon as you get a free weekend you'll be dragging it out to do some work to it. :D
