Important

Forecast right now is calling for 10-12" total snowfall through tomorrow night. 6-8" tonight. Guess that means I get up early and clear the driveway. At least with the cold it'll move easily, and not stick.

Heading out for Indy this morning to catch a flight to NC. Hope to be back in the 'new' truck in about 24 hours.

Have fun!!!

and...its raining in the fort...wish is was all snow!

mac 'if its gonna be cold, it should bee snowing' gyvr

Got at least most, if not all of that last night, and another 2-4" predicted today.

Governor Dupe shut down the Universities today (I'm at Point these days) that's a big WTF.
I always enjoyed the snow days at MTU, all the students went out wheeling or skiing/boarding though it was too "dangerous" to go to school. I'll probably go out drifting later.

And there's only a solid 8" out there.

And I had stuff I kinda wanted to do today as finals are next week!

We got just enough to cover the ground last night. That's the second or third time so far. It melted by this morning. The temps have dropped enough for it to start spitting snow again, but I'm not sure how well it will stick before the temps drop to the teens tonight.XJosh *Probably gonna have some booze for antifreeze before bed tonight* 95

we got lucky, temps were about 32 I guess,
we only have about 2 inches. mostly wet outside.
they say it is supposed to get cold like a mofo later today!

BOB

That's not good. That wet sludge will freeze in place tonight.

we were sitting with about 5 inches of snow that got rain/sleet on top of it and then it went to snowing more last night so now we have about 8-10 inches of snow mixed with ice....and the wind is blowing like a mofo. The drifts this morning were half scary to blast through in the chore truck, but if I was not loaded w/ a bale on back I would not have gone too far. I am a bit more cautious then last year when I rolled the Dodge...

The stuff is pretty wet here. I shoveled/blowed the driveway last night, and we had a good 6-7 inches (just below the shute on the blower). I wake up this morning, and there is another 8 or so (above the shute).
I spent 2 hours getting 1/2 of the driveway done, I am soaked. I just looked outside, the wind is picking up.

With the snow load on trees and power lines, expect the worse.

Plows are making atleast a pass on a street to get one lane open. I 90/94/39 on-ramps are closed. All Government is closed except for people needed for essential services. The UW is closed, and it's a good thing, campus must be a mess ( nowhere to put the snow! ). Everyone has been asked to stay at home.

This will take days to cleanup...

Ah to be a care free renter or a Student living in a Dorm! No cleanup, just bitching because the storm has closed your favorite activity :rattle: LOL!!!

There is a snowball fight scheduled for Bascom Hill tomorrow, I wish I had time to watch, it should be interesting :D

its snowing here now! nothing on the streets yet but the grass is sticking. we're supposed to get gusts over 50mph this afternoon. I may blow away!

We live on a court, so the plows do not come by until about a week after it snows. It's a total sheet of ice out there. My clueless coworkers think, since I have four wheel drive, I am all set. Lot of good on ice.

around 14 inches here cleaned off the driveway 4 times yesterday, have a drift even with the bottom of the window. All of the gas I have for the snowblower is in it right now.

That's the thing though, if you live in a dorm you don't have an "excuse" to not go to school.
I never minded blowing snow at my house in Houghton, I thought it was kinda fun. Average about 8" a week from late Dec. thru Mar.
Though the weird thing is I have a friend at UWM and they got a wavier I guess and went ahead and had school. The governors email stated that he basically shut down the entire state except the "essential" people.
My internet here at home isn't the greatest so I wanted to go in and get some stuff done, but the buildings and whatnot wont be open, so this is what I got.

that doesnt sound like fun!

last year when we had our big snow, classes were cancelled (first time since 1979) i woke up around 5 got in the jeep and drove all over campus before the IU plows were out. It was a lot of fun. Making fresh tracks in the roads where some of the smaller pickup plows were getting stuck.

Then i figured since i am probably one of the few people to be able to get around town, i called the hospital and asked if there were any nurses/doctors that couldnt get to work. I picked up a couple nurses (guy and a mom, sorry guys haha) that lived way out on the edge of town where plows probably wouldnt get to until the next week and picked them up and took them to the hospital. Gotta love the XJ

Big jeep+lots of snow= lots of fun!!! Our roads around here are pretty much impassible. Trucks and cars stuck in the middle of the road. Kindof pisses them off when I go by them in the ditch:D No need to shovel the driveway, it is full of vehicles.
