Important

Are they compatible between the 4.0 and v8 engines? Figured one would be different pressure.

Same part number for 4.0, 5.2, 5.9...

All the same pressures afaik...

a text? seems professional.

sounds like the guy is a little ambitious... and its working against him.

yes, its a cvt type centrifugal clutch setup. no, its essentially single sheer. seems to be the prefered method. problem is that the primary and secondary have to be completely enclosed. this protects during failure and people from putting their hands in moving parts. so a support of some sort may be difficult, and not worth the weight.

we hadnt been into the case at all, it was going to get some fresh fluid this week and that was that. she is torn down now, and the shaft looks like a home brew setup... the polaris shaft had been parted off and drilled, then someone installed a bought/machined shaft with keyway with an interference fit, and welded it. there is your stress riser. haha.
yep... sure sounds like the smoking gun to me LOL

I would consider pilot boring the end of each shaft and using pilot bearings/bushings and a spreader bar to keep the shafts from bowing in towards each other, maybe, but that's all I can think of.

I may look into the pump Mac. Hate that I will have to drop the tank just to get an accurate fuel gauge.

Drove to Dayton, Ohio after work with a friend and picked up his new 98XJ. Body is clean and the interior is Damn near mint. No cruise but before we left the lot Ryan already told me he had a complete cruise control setup at his house.

The ZJs aren't too hard.

Surprisingly the bolts usually come out pretty easy.

We did the 5.9 and the hitch bolts all came out even tho the 5.9's hitch is rusty.
