Important

I lucked out on my tranny deal...it was a bad line that leaked out enough fluid for it to start to slip. I replaced the line, filled it back up and have put @ 1000 miles on it since hauling hay and it has performed great. Lucky I caught it when I did. I am still shopping for a 3500 Silverado if all goes well after harvest. This dodge is a hauling machine, but it's creature comforts suck worse than prison sex.

Cheese "sore butt either way" Man

Yeah Dodge seats suck...but I can't compare it to prison sex cause I don't know anything about that...so thanks for the comparison...

Fixed mine with an inch of foam under the covers.

Cheaper than removing a body from a frame to change a blown up engine.

I fixed mine by selling it and buying a Ford with a comfy interior...

The current Ford already had the motor rebuilt 2k miles before I bought it...tho it was not blown up...

Problem solved.

Love me some high bridges. I-535 in Duluth, the Mac, Chicago Skyway, Bay bridge.....fun times.

As far as automotive brands, f' it. I buy what I want. I have had good and bad with all of them, but far less issues with euro's and MUCH better dealer treatment, so for now they get my money.

Added a new Jeep to the flock today, guess the ZJ is gonna have to move on to someone else. 4 is way too many.

Last time I was over the Skyway though, I wasn't driving, the GF was.
I have never ever seen anyone so scared of driving over a bridge. 45 mph, white knuckles, eyes locked on the car in front of her.

Still, I got a chance to look around a bit. Good view to the Lake side!

Have a wedding to go to in the afternoon Saturday, but should be back early and hopefully get out with my camera that I had cleaned. Maybe that will get me back in the shooting mood.

Re: Re: Important

Kimmer, the Chesapeake Bay bridge outside of Annapolis had a service where someone will drove you across it. It is one of the longest bridges like that in the world.

My sister had an '04 Tahoe that she got new and put well over 200,000 miles on it. The odo broke at 230, 000 something. I know twords the end she was dumping a ton of money into it.
She sold it for $4000.00!
A guess there really is a sucker born every day

Mine has 195,000.

We are very diverse the other day we had a 72 chevelle convertable & a Range Rover right next to it.

Same here. We get a little of everything. From an 08 Mercedes witha roof leak to a 67 Firebird convertible with driveability issues. We do have a lot domestics come in and foreign. But From what Ive worked on Id take a domestic over a foreign anyday.

Working in primarily GM shops, I've seen it all come and go. There are many repairs out of what I mentioned earlier, those are just the typical issues. And I was concentrating on the GMT 800 line, which is where Dan's Tahoe falls.

To be totally honest, I would say the vehicle I saw the least amount of issues with was the Pontiac Vibe or Chevy Aveo. I know the Vibe is essentially a Toyota Matrix. Had a recall for the driver's floor pad needing trimmed to keep the throttle from sticking like those Toyotas did...

The Aveo... It's totally GM owned. Never saw problems with them, but when your dealer has only sold like 2 of them... it keeps probability down.

We have had a few of them come in. Usualy the pulley on the timing belt tensioner breaks and the belt gets way loose or shreds. We had one car only bend one valve and we had several of them Bend every valve dead flush with the deck surface. They usually require complete heads.

Working on every different make every day you get to see whats the norm for different makes and models. I may be biased but ill stil take a GM

I'm sorry, but you could not give a free GM car. Yesterday I bought a new to me Jeep & my mom bought a new Camry. I'll stick with the chit I know how fix & she can buy the car I never have to fix.
