I'm not too worried about the 8.8"

The LJs came with 15s IIRC, atleast all I have seen.
With the stock gears you'll be able to roll those 33's easy enough.
Out back is a typical Dana LSD also stock.
Is it a STD or automatic?
Mac. Plan on heads and intake at least. The stock heads crack around the valves and the stock intake is known for blowing plenum gaskets. I got EQ monster magnum heads from Clearwater cylinder and a Hughes air gap intake manifold. Headers are rare and expensive and a SCT tuner is a must.
There's just something about a big V8 jeep that's four linked front and rear that I'm in love with.
read belowI want a waggy width front 44...
i know john D is going to be looking to get rid of his once his 60 is done. everything short of RCVs... though 300m joints are a good consolation. your 8.8 should be able to match the 5.13 gears too.Chromo 30 axle parts haha. I'd like to build a waggy width ford HP44 with RCVS
The d44 stuff on a d30 was dgrigorenko. Awesome build.read below

(full width 44/8.8 on 35s is my dream build for some stupid reason. i want the width, but see no point in anything bigger than a 35 on the unibody...
im just going to polish my 30 though. forget his username, but a guy here in the MWC did the D44 lock outs on a D30 knuckle... if youve seen the thread, you know what im talking about. im doing the same this summer, on a WJ knuckle. i got all the D44 parts i need at the cost of a case of beer. i picked up a set of locking hubs, also cost a case of beer. haha! just waiting on some WJ knuckles to fall into my lap now. after exams, im going back to fettes mfg to work, so ill be able to do all the machining myself. spacer/adapter on the rear to match width.
locking hubs, bigger brakes, a little more width, dial in a little more castor, crossover/highsteer? yes please! plan this summer is to get the steering and brakes (adding rear disks) all up to par. next summer looking at a rear locker, gears, and chromos. in no particular order...)
I want a front 60.
Red 'can't spend anymore on a 44 than mine' heep
RCV's are going in my 30. I'm a fan of overbuilt stuff...
TRUE just changing the weak pointShoving unbreakable axles into a 30 doesn't make it overbuilt, just changes the focal point of destruction.

Unless you put a PSC full hydro kit on it.![]()

Go 60 or go home is truth though.
I think a hp44 with RCVs and 30 spline drive slugs is plenty strong enough for up to 37"s I plan to stay at 35"s. I wasn't a fan of my 44 with alloy shafts. The stub shaft was still super weak. I broke it easily on 36"s and with a 4.0. I think a v8 will munch them up.
