None actually, the white house is the neighbor im sure they got some. my parents house is actually raised up a bit so where you see the boat in the second pic is right at the bottom of a little porch/mud room that is still another step up to get in the living space.

first the bombing. than the Texas plant, than the shootings, now they say they caught him. The media is just so greedy to be the 1st to report, sometimes they get so many facts wrong.

I caught a segment of "All things Considered" that discussed "Social Media"s role in reporting and how the Mainstream Media is adapting by jumping the gun before they are certain of the facts.

I cry BS. Ever since CNN came on line back in (80?), any new story that is remotely "Sensational" is drilled into their listeners like a cheap version of "House Wives of "X"".

The problem is that this does not produce balanced reporting, but encourages ambulance chasing tenancies. 90% of the stuff being reported about the Marathon bombings is either a loop repeated every 30 seconds, or pure off the cuff speculation.

The question the Feds and Boston Police must be asking themselves is whether this type of coverage by the Mainstream Media resulted in the identification of the Perps, or whether it was Social Media which got them the most "Bang for the Buck".

I couldn't agree more. The number of times I rolled my eyes and called BS on something the reporters on scene were saying tonight was pretty high. They also sat outside the actual scene (because the police didn't want a bunch of useless reporters getting in the goddamn way) and grabbed at any possible bit of info, no matter how useless, then repeated it forever, and mostly focused on just hassling random cops for info and saying OH WELL WHAT DID WE JUST SEE? WE JUST SAW ANOTHER TWO COP CARS ARRIVE. THAT SURE IS INTERESTING. BACK TO YOU! <next person> YES WELL WE DEFINITELY JUST SAW TWO MORE COP CARS ARRIVE <wild speculation follows>

I finally got tired of it and found a reliable online radio scanner site that had solid info on it (since it was listening to boston PD repeaters) and beat every news station by a good 15-20 minutes.

It'll only take another week for the conspiracy theories to die down now.... It could be a good thing that we got him alive, but I'm guessing he's a pawn in a large circle of extremists with out much knowledge of anything more than he carried out. I really didn't keep up with this too much because of the media. I knew enough to know what was going on but my heart goes out to the injured and the families of the dead.

The reporters had their heads firmly planted in their asses the whole time. One saw some guy in camo with a semi auto rifle go by and literally said "and there goes another police officer with a... shotgun..." - you could hear the ignorance and sort of guessing tone as they looked at the gun. :sure:

So, tell me again, mr reporter, why you think various kinds of guns should be banned when you just misidentified one of them as a type you don't think should be banned... yet?

I didn't think my station had any "pro gun" reporters on staff when I seen stories they had done. I was wrong, there is a couple. One woman is very much pro gun. Another guy is a hunter (some good/some bad). We also have another on air person who isn't directly a reporter who is very much pro gun. Sadly I think management kills some pro gun stories to not offend or be PC. I could be wrong though.

Could be totally wrong but I don't think so. My gut is telling me these kids were just another couple of goons who for whatever reason are mad at the country that give them every opportunity to do great things. I think if they were working for a larger group with more money, the destruction would have been ten times as bad.

This..... It's takes a few hours and some household chemicals to make MASSIVE destruction

I don't have cable... I don't get on reddit.... I don't cruise news sites. I concern myself with what affects me and I live my life. Tragedy and destruction and ensuing police drama doesn't entertain me, but it entertains so many others so these stories are carried to extremes these days
