Important

We got a new guy on our line this week......well a chick but she looks like a guy and she likes chicks. So far she's lazy.

Some wet crud is predicted here on Sunday. Depending on which weather report you look at, anywhere from 1 to 10 inches is predicted.

For once we aren't catching the south end of the crap you guys are getting. Its rainy here today but no snow in the near future. Expecting low 40's to low 50's the next few days here.

Hoping today goes fast. Got a starter for the yota to see if it'll run. Tomorrow I plan on working on the heep, hoping to knock out the pass. rear quarter... Sunday will be a home day to to the possibility of snow.

Looks like the Heep is getting dropped off at my buddies after WF for a cage! I can get 60 feet of CREW 1.50" x 0.120 for $120.

You've got a welder.

JIM.
I do, but I don't feel like burning up my tires twice as fast. And I DD this thing on pavement when it's running properly.

Don't most people go for 1.75x120 for cages?

Feel your pain, minus the snow. I spent most of the summer training, there was one guy that I told my supervisor I will call him to let him know where I left the FNG when he finally pisses me off beyond tolerance. :D

That reminds me of another story I need to tell you in Moab. Left a guy in New Mexico once. He wasn't a FNG. He just got a DUI in the truck and I was supposed to go pick him and the truck up and bring them home. Got there and he was drunk with a bottle in hand. He refused to give the bottle up so I left his ass there. Lots more to the story. Remind me.

A lot of people do, but mine will be internal not external, and I never see myself needing that extreme of a cage. I want it more for structural and possibly the occasional tip-over... I can get 1.75 for not much more if needed...

Rolling out this afternoon to go to southern Missouri to pick up a new frame for the 69. It is an original one owner factory unmolested frame off a truck that only had 38K original miles and was in a building (barn) that collapsed. Body was beat up pretty bad but everything else was good. The owner started a frame off restoration/rebuild and lost interest. It is freshly sandblasted, powder coated, CPP c-notch installed and tig welded in for a show finish. I am picking it up for less than the sandblasting bill would have cost me for mine. $250 in diesel and a little for food...should be a fun and fast road trip. The owner is a cool old dude, he guarntees that it is not bent, tweaked etc and had all the measurements form the factory for the spacing of rails and braces. He said if I got there and did not take it b/c it was not as he described or it was misrepresented in anyway, he would cover 110% of my travel expenses.

thats sweet tyler....the blasting and frame prep has been the biggest pita for me on my project, and i'm still not done with it

on a side note...as i predicted last night, so far no snow on the ground. this "epic" storm was supposed to start last night, but so far its bee just a few sprinkles of rain. its going to rain all day, then snow from 6-10pm tonight...im not really sure how we will get 24 inches of snow in 4 hours, but if we do, it will actually be epic.

I have seen a foot of snow in an hour, fortunately, relatively little wind, but it still shut down the Keweenaw Peninsula. One of only a couple of times that Michigan Tech closed while I was up there.
