Important

I really really think you'll be ok. Like I said on face space. I had the same bumps in my MTRs. Was never a problem. If it grows....then you have a problem.

Yup, I plan on using it till it pops. I'm picking up Wades spare 33 at WF, so I'll be good for a while... The price I paid for these was way too good, even if that one blows, I'll buy new tires this summer and just use the remaining 3 as spares. My only concern in the short term is not getting a trailer for WF. If I need to drive on these to get there, I may rethink the entire trip.

Found this this morning... Not happy...
Only been on the trail once, and I only run 20 psi... I'm just going to use it till it pops...

That blows i had the same thing happen to me and it lasted for a bit and last week i went outside and it was huge and then popped the next day .

Worst part was it had the most tread of any tire on the Spare'okee

I think I'm going to try and find a tube for it gets any worse...

i had a good meeting about the new potential job in new york yesterday...now we wait on salary. if the job was anywhere but new york, it would be a done deal already. for me to consider moving again, the numbers definitely have to line up. my direct supervisor seems very cool. she is very much in favor of me continuing to work outside of the center doing theatre shows and corporate events. she also encouraged me to make sure that i take my days off during the week and vacation days...that i will have no issues with.

Not a good day today. Blew a customers motor up. The boss is not happy with me.

would you be living in the city, Craig?

basically if the deal works out, we would be living in the city full time for at least a few months. i plan on keeping the shop in iowa so i can keep the j10 and mj there until we either find our own place outside of the city, or move them (and my tools/toys/gear) to storage to a buddies place outside of the city. last time i lived here, i gave up a lot of my hunting gear and tools...that will NOT be happening if we move back. hell, my shop costs me very little out of pocket so even if i keep it for a year, its not a big deal.

right now i'm playing the waiting game...its killing me. i don't think i've fallen asleep once before 3 am since i've been here. i just want to know if this offer will be what it should be or if i can go back to life as usual. i have a pretty strong feeling we will be coming back though, i actually really liked the people from the opera center.

mechanic, doing a lower intake on a GM 3.1.

Maybe they'll sell it with the new motor and never bring a stupid 3.1 in again!

How did it blow up? Suck something in the motor?
Haven't tore it down yet. Suspect bent valve or hole in piston. No compression on #4 cylinder. I had the intake & exhaust push rods swapped (differant lenths) on that cylinder & bent a pushrod. Pics may follow later. of the carnage.

I hate the 3.1's..... I am glad I don't own one anymore.

The 3.8 from ford was my evil nemesis... After rebuilding 2 different motors due to bent rods, I'll never touch one again... Evil, evil motors...

how much of a commute would you have if you lived in a suburban area?

just judging by your post about traveling, seems if you wanted a family a "normal" job would be a nice thing.

not sure how it is in New York but as im sure you know just a half hour to an hour drive and you can live in a nice area and work in Chicago...

new york has a better rail system than chicago...it doesn't take long by train to be in "nicer" parts of new york, new jersey and possibly even ct....for just a little over an hour you can be in PA as well. we are leaning towards eventually living in central nj with about a 30-40 minute train commute and still having property on the nj/pa border. the train commute is just easier than worrying about traffic. on a low traffic time, its possible to get from queens (where we would be living temporarily) to jersey pretty quickly.
