how to steal a bike...

ell oh ell

yup, not to be offensive to anyone, and not to stir any pots, but that type of people/security i encountered flying to FL from Toronto, with a pocket swiss army knife in my pocket. That was about two weeks ago. And what if i hijacked a plane? Even Police van drove by, im sure he was really concerned.

I figured it's be a cordless sawzall....then he broke out the AC grinder :gee:

Instant Classic

How did he break into that lamp pole? That's city property. Did he have a permit to draw electric from that point?

I'm confused anyway. They conducted this little experiment because they thought people would give a crap about their bikes? And they live in NYC? That's some pretty scary naivete' for a couple of big city boys.

Cities leave those open for public/official use.

I work hard for what I have and I'm sure most ppl do. I would call 911 and detain the person, not just think glad its not me

I don't know what your local laws are but in California the laws don't work that way. New York is closer to California in regards to laws than Florida.

CITIZEN'S ARREST

A citizen's arrest is a formal arrest by a citizen has no official government authority to make such an arrest as an agent of the government. The California Penal Code gives any citizen the right to make a citizen's arrest of another citizen in three alternative situations:
  1. A public offense was committed or attempted in the citizen's presence.
  2. The person arrested has committed a felony, although not in the citizen's presence.
  3. A felony has been in fact committed and the citizen has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested has committed it.
Stealing a bicycle (in most cases depending on value of the bicycle) is not a felony. Most people with expensive bikes that would qualify as a felony would not be dumb enough to lock up a bike in public, but would carry it into their destination.

One time at work somone tried to steal my buddies bike but he was at lunch, 2 guys from the front end whooped his ass and detained him until the cops got there. They weren't even charged for any offence because of the ass whooping and the guy went to jail. The guys even got honored in the local newspaper.

That's what a fawkin can't understand about mass. We can do cool stuff like that but things like wheelin are a NO NO..

My Dad has done it atleast once that I know, he was placed under arrest by a judge who accused Dad of using his work truck to cut the judge off on a motorcycle. When Dad followed the judge to the local sheriff's office the judge went around lowered arms for a railroad crossing on his motorcycle. When they got to the office Dad announced that he'd like to place the judge under citizens arrest for driving around the lowered gates and would only drop his charges if the judge dropped the ones against him. We heard later on that this judge was kind of an insult to the job and killed himself and his wife after he bullied somebody into renting him an airplane even though he didn't have the required experiance.

Everyone's local/state laws vary. That would not fly here in California.
