Adding a transmission cooler to a stock 96 XJ

I started to add a transmission cooler to the old XJ last year and after installing the cooler and lines I stopped short of connecting the lines to the transmission. Here's what I have now...cooler installed in front of the belt fan and lines.

Can someone remind me...how do I go about attaching these lines to my transmission, to where, and what adapters do I need to make the connection?

Thanks

So far you've got a lot of rework to do! The lines go on the bottom and the passenger side!

Unless he forgot that he was adding a PS cooler. 😎

I ran out of steam and just stored the lines out of the way. I just have to undo them and re-route down to the transmission...not too difficult. I just can't find my notes where I researched it before...which is the out and in orifice at the transmission and how the lines are integrated into circulation.

Simplest way is to hook the lines up to each fitting on the transmission with the ends open, Hopefully the ends arent long, as short as possible. You could even do this without any fittings attached. With your face outta the way, have someone crank the engine for just a second, DO NOT start it, Pull the fuel pump relay if you need to. While it cranks for just a second, watch to see which fitting spits fluid out, and theres your answer. I know some people will poopoo on this, but you arent going to hurt anything if its only for a second, and a second is ALL you need. Trust me, the fluid will spit out with some force behind it. Then hook up your lines accordingly. Do not worry about the other fitting sucking in air, as some might think. The return side has no suction to it whatsoever, the fluid is simply being pushed through the entire system by the pump.
