Heres what I did today...

FINALLY finished a 2 month long fix on my DD. It was one thing after another, but it seems to be running better than when I bought it 6 years ago. Tomorrows commute will determine if it was a real success or not.

Looking good John & Ryan!

I won't post pictures of my stuff, I don't need to throwing stuff through your monitors at me for working with "new walls". ;) I sure don't envy working with older stuff, it can be a pain somethings.

I'd love to see how your coming along Bill.

All the flooring is done, just some trim remains and clean up all the dust.

(NONE of mine was sloped properly, the traps were all in wrong spots, there were multiple traps, and to add insult to injury, some idiot had cut a plugged section out and fixed it by stuffing ABS DWV inside it, then liberally siliconing the gaping cracks between the copper and ABS)

hey don't throw that cardboard out!!!!
ha! gotta keep that tub floor safe!

yea, I could put my finger through most of the copper that we pulled out. and nothing was sloped correctly either. and, our house had ONE shut off for the water, and it was stripped. so, technically I had no shut offs. now we have a shutoff for every zone.

Yup, I did the same, separate ballvalve on every single spur.

I think I threw $500 or so in copper, solder, and fittings/valves at my place, ended up scrapping the junk I tore out for $244 last summer. Didn't make out too bad. I considered PEX but I trust my ability to sweat copper way more than I trust sharkbite connectors or my crimping.

Screw sweating water pipes. Pro-press or pex is the way to go. Pex is so much easier to work with and cheaper than copper. Just never use flow guard for anything. That stuff is junk.

Holy crap. Now....now I understand Ken....

Wow. Just wow.

Went to lowes and bitched that they didn't have rolls of r15 insulation so the dude sold me bats for $1 over cost......you can officially fit 7 packages of batts in a xj.....with a lot of shoulder shoves

R15 bats, I have 2x4 framing so my choices are limited, rolls were 11 bucks for 40ft, batts were 46 for 67ft so I ended up saving over 100 bucks...just wished I had room for more both the big chains stopped carrying rolls of r15 so i really have no choice

Had no room for the roxul I wanted to get which sucks since its 40 mins to the "shopping" areas
