Heres what I did today...

I'm the Go-fer and lunch bitch on this one... Gary and his bud are doing the major work.

He wants to build a garage next for his upcoming build.

looks good John, I just finished our bathroom last month, mine is way smaller than yours and it was a ton of work.

& Ken the tile is pretty easy, run to harbor freight, get a tile saw, I recommend the pre-mix mortar for simplicity & consistency, and the right tools/grout float etc. & its pretty easy, just labor intensive.

Any chance you are for hire? :eyes:

I haven't done tile yet and frankly it kinda scares me.
I haven't done a ton of tile but the two biggest things are doing a dry layout so there are no surprises and things look even, and snapping a few lay out lines to insure the first few tiles are stright. After that it's mainly making sure you have the correct notch size on your trowel so that the thin set is applied correctly.

Went to install extended brake lines, and rear hard line rotted out... Ugh
better to find out now then when you really need em

i got stuck betweek a rock and a hard place today, 88" wide xj's have there disavantages

Taking out my front axle to install my long arms has shown a LOT of things that needed repair...

Trackbar is torn apart with new bushings and Johnny Joints on the way. Upper control arm bushings had to be replaced and the sleeves just fell out of the old ones. Hopefully WJ bushings will hold up long enough. The axle end trackbar bolt hole was a big fat oval so I boogered up a reinforcing plate with a new hole in it. The passenger side axle mount got some reinforcing as well.

How do my booger welds look for having welded anything.... twice? Something like that

Sawzall batteries ran out after cutting off one of the frame side mounts, will continue tomorrow! After the boss takes me out golfing though, of course

Looks good Chris, we must have found the same sale on the floor tile..

We just went around fixtures measuring where joints would lay, didnt want small pieces run along a tub for example.

I gotta get my upper mount boxed in, keep forgetting about that.

Gary finished the rips along walls today and got the vanity etc in. Just needs the tub knee wall tiled in. Few friends over for dinner and Flyers game today, we'll grout tomorrow.

I misread that tow truck's logo as "haters" at first

Trashed the gears in my 30 and got towed home

Bummer about the gears. Are you locked in the front? You'll have to snap a few pics of it once you open it up. There are some telltale signs of why the gears trashed. Most are because of carrier flex, but sometimes other things can contribute too. You probably know this, but you can pull the front shafts, remove the outers (off the u-joint) and put them back in, plug the holes where the inners were with rags, pull the frt driveshaft and drive it.

The AAA tow truck drivers in the area know that place well!!

Driven like that numerous times

Nah, it's open in the front with 4.56's and 32" tires. I've noticed some play in the pinion recently so I'm thinking that had something to do with it. I was building up another D30 with OTK and stuff, but I guess I should've done that sooner haha. I do have an E-Locker on backorder, so gears were going to have to be set up anyway.

Yeah I plan on pulling the shafts and running the stub shafts just in case something happens to the subaru and I need to drive the Jeep
