I used a cast iron tub... even if the floor completely gives way under it, it won't leak, I'll just suddenly find myself sitting in a tub in the basement, next to the other tub in the basement.
Looking good Ken.
What are you doing with all those bricks? Most of them look like they are still in good shape.
That would be a LOT of brick.bill wants to do up his driveway Indy style
Nice. I figured you had a use for them.Probably 90% of them came out intact. I am going to clean them up somewhat and use them to make a fire pit in the back yard, a retaining wall, a walkway, part of the bbq grill pit on what will be the patio, or the fireplace surround in the living room, I haven't decided yet. That pile is only about 10 feet of chimney, I have another 15-20 feet left to go in the first floor and basement. I need to find out how many are worth reusing before I can decide which project will get them and which will get new brick or fieldstone.
I want some for an outdoor fireplace and yard edging.
I figured. I might know a source now that you mention it, remind me tomorrow and I will investigate. You may have to chip the mortar off yourself, not sure. If I can get a good price I will probably pick up at least an m54a2 load. That would be a LOT of brick.
Nice. I figured you had a use for them.
I wasn't looking for them from you, just curious as I knew you'd use them in something. I used to be able to get used brick for 13 to 15 cents a piece from the guy down the road, but he stopped selling. All I can find now is places that want more for used than new. I want some for an outdoor fireplace and yard edging.
Ken uses entire cherokees for lawn edging.
