Wanna come spend some time in mass? :eyes:

Another motor swap, trying to resist my OCD and not clean/paint it. It's not our Jeep so i got a good shot at it. :)

Last mechanic to work on the old engine fixed the broken motor mount bolts by welding it to the block, need to source a pass side mount tonight or tomorrow so i can drop the new one in.

know anyone heading from mass area to PA tonight? I have at least two sitting here. If it weren't Saturday I'd see if Bert is trucking right now.

No, i think CHW might have one, awaiting a call back. Otherwise i'll try my luck at the upull.

I just scrapped two sets about a month ago. Figures..

But Thank You for the offer Ken!

Tried putting a new master cylinder in the MJ, allllllll the unions are seized up, made sure there was a cheap replacement and cut the upper side off, ill cut the other side tomorrow and try to get a socket on the union............anyone free tomorrow?

Oh yeah, drank a lot of Pbr and bought a chainsaw

I was actually planning on being in pa tomorrow morning and I have two newbies

But plans changed

where'd you buy a chainsaw? I got mine for $75 at a pawn shop (sticker said $269, I am a pro haggler sometimes) and have put about 50 bucks in parts into it now, it cuts like a champ. I think it originally had a 14" blade, came to me with a 16" blade, and I put an 18" on it recently, it won't cut with the full length obviously but it is nice to be able to reach a bit further with it. Cut through some 20-22" red oak logs Friday and it did great.

If you got some homelite at home depot, I will give you my old one for free as a source of spare parts. Damn thing seized up on me one day and I was so frustrated with it (it wouldn't even turn over) that I just went and bought the one I have now.

Harbor freight electric fo 40, just needed something to cut split wood in half to fit in our stove

Thats starting to look familiar Begster!

This is my 1st motor swap in a manual XJ, so much tighter dropping in with a clutch on the back... took a few hours but i got it alone.

I usually pull the header panel and move the AC condenser aside for exactly that reason. Almost all the room one could ever want. Heck with a load leveler you can easily finagle an entire loaded drivetrain in at once, working alone.

You beat my install time by three months so don't feel bad

Huh?

I put a 99+ intake with the newer style pump setup on my XJ/MJ and didn't have that problem?

I think my belt wrapped around that little nub though and then came out.

If it makes you feel better neither of my jeeps have used stock sized belts, no idea why
