Help, Where should we stay?

Ryan (DRMOAB) and I will be heading to your neck of the woods on the 15th of June, as I'm sure most of you know, to deliver the give-a-way Jeep. Were in the process of looking for a place to stay and he suggested that I put up a post and find out what ya'll suggest. He wants to stay out of downtown Denver at all costs.

Any suggestions/help would be great.

Thanks.

Well, can you be a bit more specific? Are you looking at staying in the 'Springs? Denver area?

Hotel? Bed and Breakfast? Budget considerations? How long are you staying? Maybe a Chapter member's home?

Kind of a wide variety of choices we could suggest without some info to narrow it down.

Were looking to stay on the west side of Denver both nights. The plan is to stay there both nights. Our plan is that we will arrive in Denver Friday night, then get up early Saturday to go and deliver the Jeep and then come back to denver to hang out. We'll be leaving Sunday.

Hotel is what I'd prefer and not something too expensive, but I don't want to stay in a dump either.

Are you coming across I-70?

I think Troy would be your best bet to ask.
He works over on that side of town.

He also knows who to ask about high/low crime rates.

What places do you usually stay when traveling?
Econo-shack?
Comfy-Inn?
HolidayInn?
Hilton?

Any place that will allow a big ass dog and doesn't make me get a loan in order to pay.

I don't need room service. If its somewhat clean, doesn't have cockroaches and there isnt any blood or semen stains on the wall we are golden.

Well, I imagine that the dog is gonna be the biggest issue. In my neck of the woods, there aren't any hotels that aren't big chains. You'd have to check with those chains to see if they allow pets - I don't have any personal knowledge of any hotels that DO allow pets, but I don't know that they don't either.

I know....... not much help.

how bout a town? My wifes been looking at some in Lakewood. Safe enough place or should we go somewhere else?

HUGE!

Half Chocolate Lab, half Weimer.

Looks like its the Days Inn in Englewood. They just say pets are ok. No stipulations.

Its also fairly cheap if we reserve it now.

Too ironic!

It's owned and operated by a retired german couple. They have pets themselves, including my old parrot. At least that was the case 4 years ago when I met them.

From this location it's about a five minute drive to E-470 and I-70. Maybe Troy has insight to criminal activity in that area, but Golden is pretty quiet compared to many nearby places.

If I didn't have a prior commitment I'd offer parking for the trailer. I'm not sure the Mrs. would appreciate total strangers coming around while I'm gone...but it's not like I discussed this with her.

Whoops! Property values went up again, time to stop typing.

Going to call them in the morning. Golden wouldn't be a bad place to stay I don't think.

I have a thing for Mom and pop type motels more then big chains anyway.

Thanks for the info.

I used to live not far from that days inn off I-70 and colfax. That part of Golden is fine, I don't think you will have any problems. They have been building quite a bit around there, so there are a lot of resterants and shopping just down the street.
