GUNS & AMMO

GUNS & AMMO

You have a set of assless chaps and you know it.

Seriously though, that Vaquero is a fine pistol. Let us know how it fires. I've never shot one.

All chaps are assless. And no, I don't have any. I don't own any leathers, despite riding a cruiser.

Finally! I'm not the only one to understand this.

I imagine CO is like everywhere else. You've got your sections of the state/cities that are more rustic than others. I just feel like the state as a whole gets the benefit of the doubt to be cowboy. I ain't mad at it.

Guns is guns, I like almost all of them. I'd love to play with a quality revolver like a Vaquero on the regular.

I do enjoy renting the S&W 500Mag once in a while :D

love it.

Today I offically became a CZ fan after firing one at our local range. Holy Moly!

I've been doing some side gunsmithing work for extra cash to purchase a Sig P226 with the short reset, but after firing the 75B model, I'm scrapping that idea. The whole pistol is well balanced, with a milled frame and a sweet trigger. I think that I can rework the factory trigger a bit more, but damn....right from the box it is killer.

If you guys have never looked at CZ pistols before, the are the best kept secret at the moment. They've been around for a while, but people are starting to catch on and the prices are starting to creep up a little bit.

Been sayin it over and over. My cz 75b is great. The decocker model would have been smart but oh well.
My grandfather is and old cowboy gun guy. He carries revolvers most of the time and liked my cz feel as a pistol to that of the super Blackhawks as revolvers. He now owns 2 cz's lol.
I have over 1500 rounds through mine. Not a single ftf fte and that's including Tula.

They won me over hard, man. I really can't say enough good things about them. I love the extended beavertail! I shoot pistols with a high thumb on the grip, so I'm prone to slide bite. I literally have scars on my thumb from my Browning Hi-Power slide. The whole gun just feels 'right'. I don't really know how to explain it any other way.

Funny story: The member at the range who owned it let me shoot his 75B and I let him shoot my VZ58 - coincidentally they're both made in Czechoslovakia. Afterwards we both said we were buying each other's firearms. lol

I'd love a vz58. Droooooool.
Yep I have a high grip as well and have a long hand and most grips leave me piling fingers on top of each other with a really uncomfortable grip. I love mine and what my girl will likely want to get as her first pistol as well.
Plus they are just dead on right off the bat.

I will say buying new strip it down and file it a little bit. I did fun some burs and uneven spots from factory.

SON OF A BITCH!

Not to sound like a cold-hearted bastard about the whole D.C. shooting thing, but the gun-grab has already begun again. My LGS is already out of .223, 7.62, 9mm and .308 already. Just as things were starting to settle down too.

How many coordinated mass shootings have there been since Obama has taken office as compared to other Presidents? This is just crazy.

RIP to the victims.

Are there any good places to shoot on national forest land around the Denver area?

Im tired of spending ~$25 to go shoot at the Family Shooting Center in Chery Creek park, and would like to enjoy some time shooting without some numbnut sending brass into my face. :gag:

Ive gone a couple times with a friend outside Fort Collins, but thats a bit of a drive!

Yeah and since highway 14 doesn't exist anymore, outside ft fun is hard to get to...

Mt. Herman has several nice areas in-which to shoot for free. Just make sure you pick up your brass after you're done.

I haven't gone to check our stores yet, but it ticked me off. Good thing I've got production running on my reloading press. Not that I have everything for .223, but I won't have a problem sourcing 9mm and .40 at the stores.

250rds I pumped out last night for my buddy. He supplied the brass and used wheel weights for me to cast. Total cost of other components $17.45. I'm charging him a nickel for my labor.

Quick question guys. I'm coming through Denver in Sunday on my way to Moab. Was thinking about bringing my AR.....and we're allowed to have 30 round mags here. Can I still transport the mags through Denver legally?

I'm not sure the mags can pass through Colorado legally under our latest tyranny, let alone Denver... I'll leave it to others with greater knowledge than I, but I think you're limited to <15 rd mags under the latest and "greatest" throughout the state...

So long as you are the owner, you should not have any problems.

(e) Possession of assault weapons unlawful. It shall be unlawful to
carry, store, keep, manufacture, sell or otherwise possess within the City and
County of Denver a weapon or weapons defined herein as assault weapons, except
that this subdivision shall not apply to:

...

(3) The transportation of any assault weapon through the city by a
nonresident who is in legal possession of an assault weapon or a
person carrying a permit issued under subsection (f) for the
purposes and under the conditions set forth in subsections (b)(2)
through (b)(5), Revised Municipal Code.

Here is the essence of the new Colorado law:

(2) (a) a person may possess a large-capacity magazine if he or she:
(I) owns the large capacity magazine on the effective date of this section; and
(II) maintains continuous possession of the large-capacity magazine.

And the burden of proof is on law enforcement to prove it was bought after July 1, not on the individual to prove otherwise.

Sweet, haven't shot it yet. what better place to break it in!

glad to hear I don't know of what I speak!
