GUNS & AMMO

Flex...sorry about your friend. That definitely sucks. I've been there before. Be sure to post pics of what you do....

Thanks man, its been a rough couple months around here for that. My cousin did it a couple months before that. Tim just went from doing great to a dark place within a couple days, it sucks. I will be posting pics of what I do, gonna be a few months before I get all the parts together. Just gonna use extra cash here and there to build it.

Im asking for my ak...
i use mag currently as it's ease of grip, mag change and it's free. but im more accurate past 100yrds with hand placed a few inches forward

sorry, you said tacti-cool so I assumed you meant an AR. :D

Easy mistake to make :D
I know no matter what my ak will never be cool and im ok with that. i just think it would be a good upgrade.
also need to put some.padding on my stock. it transfers more vibration to my cheek than.old stock and id like to taper that some. probably just glue something on.

Speaking of things that go bang.......
anyone wanna go out Friday or Sunday and make noise?

Headed up Sunday with the family to do some plinking. Gonna focus on a lot of from conceal and multiple target drills. Then I found place to stretch out rifles couple hundred yards so gonna see ghetto differences between the two aks at longer distances.

Just be the fam if anyone wants to meet us up there.

Heading out to the range in about 30 minutes to do some long range shooting with the AR-50 and verify my Weatherby is on for tomorrow's buffalo hunt. I'll post a couple of pics after we get back tomorrow.

Has anyone there played with any of the composit lowers? Got a chance to grab one from a friend here. I might be turning to the dark side and building a black gun yet.

Been carrying a few different pistols, but as it has still been pretty warm I decided to look in the safe for something else a little easier to conceal.
So Ive been carrying this lil guy(.380), fits right in my pocket. No bigger than my wallet or phone.

Picked up the left over shells from previous people being out there. Hardly any brass or casings, just shot gun shells for days. Whatever.....

Man, I was close to texting you and hooking up with you guys. My wife just returned from being gone for a couple of weeks though. If you guys are open to some suggestions I could share a few things that may help.

Looks like a fun outing. It's cool that you have those target holders and the IDPA targets.

Please any suggestions welcome. We kinda try and self teach but that can get confusing and frustrating.
Ya my grandpa made a ton of those stands, they fold up pretty small so easy to transport.

It was cool, just us up there. wind was bringing the suck so we didnt shoot much long range at all. But was good time none the less, especially getting the old man out again.

edit: dont worry about the last pic, we were shooting around front targets at the rear targets. hard to explain....but ya

I assume that's your little bro? That sucks he's cross-eye dominant. Or is he left handed and shoots righty? At any rate. Check out this article about the handgun grip. It's a really good write-up with input from some of the best in the world.

There is lots of room to improve the draw stroke too, just based on what the photo shows. Post up/let me know next time you go out, I'll try my best to come out with you guys.

he shoots rifles lefty but pistols righty and is having a hard time distinguishing when to use what eye.

Both of them have neglected practicing carrying and drawing down. So for my dad this was his first time practicing coming from concealed/carry to firing in almost a year. My bro is still trying to find out what works for him. he can shoot both left and right on either type of gun, but trying to see where he is most dominant.

Wish I had a pic or two of me so I could grab some pointers for myself.

Just clear your pistol and practice during the commercial break, or use an airsoft if you have one lying around. Blinds closed may be a good idea unless you're in the sticks. lol Pick a light switch or some other small object around the house, multiple objects would be good. Take a good sight picture on the object, then open both eyes without moving. Maintain the sight picture with both eyes open as long as you can confidently see the proper sight picture. Once you lose it just close your weak eye, regain the proper sight picture, and then open your other eye and see it again as long as you can.

Do it a few times in a row until you start to get frustrated or feel fatigued. Start transitioning from one object to another and work on keeping both eyes open longer and longer. I picked it up in one evening just sitting on the couch. Don't try to learn it during live fire. You'll get frustrated and not want to waste the ammo trying to fight through it.

Once you learn it, it's a huge benefit. It's greatly important from a tactical standpoint. If If I have to fight for my life and can only see half of what's in front of me, that's not ideal.

Some food for thought.
