GUNS & AMMO

just a note to all with that issue. (it is already difficult but not impossible to find) get reloading equipment. Learn to do it and get the stuff now. Be self sufficient.

He'll give congress an opportunity to do it for him 1st, the "right way" (2nd amendment be damned) -- that will be batch 2 of EO if congress fails, I would wager.

Re: GUNS & AMMO

He left hi cap mags and assault weapon bans out of his E.Os. This bums me out a little. I really wanted him impeached.

Those are still being asked for, but will need to go through congress. He is asking congress:

– require universal background checks (background checks on anyone who would buy a gun, whether in stores or at auctions and conventions)
– restore a ban on "military-style assault weapons" (the ban expired in 2004)
– ban gun magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds
– tougher penalties on people who sell guns to people who aren't allowed to have guns

I like this from Glenn Reynolds:

Gun control is a way of rubbing Middle America’s face in the fact that it doesn’t run things. That’s the actual appeal.

Lol, that is good. Do you have the context it was from?

I was arguing with a dumbass earlier on this as I am all heated up. I finally figured out how to express my position in couple sentences. That is:

It does not matter if I am for guns or against guns. This debate is about rights and liberties. It is irrelevant what rights would be given up, how insignificant the lost rights may be, what amount of safety will be gained...it is simply wrong to attempt to gain a since of safety by allowing the government more control, for any reason. If a people really cared about stopping violence, we would stop being lazy and come up with a solution by the people. We can accomplish any social change with the rights already afforded us with the proper motivation. Giving up liberties is simply not the proper method to obtain social changes. Excising our rights is.

It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it.

Nearly too late for that too like you mention. You can find presses and other gear, but components are hard to come by. I'm waiting on a shipment of 10k small pistol primers that were in stock when I ordered a month ago. I pray that they actually get here so I have enough ammo to shoot this year. Powder and bullets are easier to find.

556 green tip $399 for 300 res

Man, sure would be nice to get some more, but just can not justify spending $1 more a round than it should be.

BTW, just had this show up from PSA for $.40 (thought that was high). Took a long time to ship but I am so happy to not support CTD

Sadly, it broke through the floor of my boat the same day it was delivered. :smsoap:

I hate this whole panic buying thing. Just after I read that CTD xm855 for $1.33 and laughed, a news story just came on stating that one of the things being asked of congress is to outlaw penetrator ammo...makes you think twice doesn't it? oh well, just can't cross the line spending that ridiculous amount

:rattle:

I'm going back to black powder weapons. When SHTF all I need is lead, powder, and paper.

Even more laughable are these so called executive orders. Most of which were already in place and just not being enforced by the mental midget residing in the Whitehouse or his administration. This whole thing is one sick joke with our constitution and the American people being used as the punch line.

1- cheap Russian guns = cheap Russian ammo = cheap to stock up :D (well it was anyway. Thank god for buying ahead of time)

2- reloads are so much cheaper when people abandon their brass willingly and you don't mind the legwork to collect it.

I feel like get caught with my pants down and am still trying to find a bottle of lube. People are finding deals this week, and I'm too slow and out of money from trying to catch up before I get shut out.

The $18 / box for .223 at my local shop doesn't seem so bad lately.

shoot, well I've got that!

Gun grabbers in history always knew the importance of using children as props...
