Anyone headed to Gulches, SC this weekend? I'll be rolling down there from Charlotte if anyone wants to caravan. They'll be at least 2 TJ's in the group and this will be my first real run with the XJ and and Spartan D30 locker.

All I can say is whoa.

If you haven't been to Gulches ORV and are in the Charlotte, NC or Columbia, SC area, you are really missing out.

We made the two hour drive from Charlotte on Sunday morning. 3/4 of the drive is interstate and the rest is decent county highway.

The park has 20 trails on 80 acres. On site air, food, bathrooms, welders, etc. Everyone we met was friendly and having a great time.

We probably won't be visiting URE again now that we have experienced The Gulches.

The XJ held up great. The Spartan locker did it's job. We ran a couple of the triple black trails and two of the Jolly Roger (ranking) trails. I think there were three or four trails requiring full roll cages and locked front and rear that we skipped.

Pictures? What is the milage difference between URE and Gulches for you?

Sweet looks like you had fun! I have a friend that is moving to Spartenberg SC. Id like to see if there is anything around there worth wheeling.

Just Gulches. There was talk of another park in Pickens IIRC but I don't know if its still open or ever opened.

You are dead on about how far The Gulches are from Spartanburg. I wanted to go this past weekend but I had to work. They have some great trails at the Gulches and the people who own it are good people. The other trail in S.C. is called Rice's Creek in Pickens and they have 300 acres. You could ride all day and not ride all of the trails. Next time you all decide to go to either place let me know.
