First flakes of thhe season, Let it snow!

lol, I didn't even bother pumping the tire up. I spent part of the day pulling cars out of the ditch with the Nissan. I pulled 5 this year. 11 last year.
 
so i'm sorely missing my winter trips up to the mountains to play in the snow.

there's GOT to be somewhere around here where snow will accumulate all winter long, some sort of hills, mountains, anything.

i'm dying here.
 
mid-upper 60's yesterday...shouldn't be riding around with the windows down in January. I'd love to see another good snow storm!

Kirk Mellish, meteorologist for WSB in Atlanta, said this:

From 12/29: "Next threat middle of January, but general time frame for more fun and games from winter anywhere from January 9th through the 22nd give or take."

From 1/4: "But the pattern is ripe with potential for winter fun and games the next two weeks or so with storm systems possible from time to time. The main thing that is certain is below-normal temperatures returning this Friday and lasting through to somewhere around Jan 20-24 then winter takes another pause after that."

He is always the most accurate forecaster for the southeast area. If you read his winter predictions from October the guy has nailed it so far. He did miss one thing and that was the ice event from about 2-3 weeks ago. He called the ice just not the roads to go to hell. Like he said, he's a weather forecaster, not a road forecaster.

I hope he's right, I'll be up in north Georgia at a cabin on MLK weekend. Would LOVE to get some snow while we are up there.
 
The Southern Blizzard of 2011 has hit! lol It's been snowing for no more than an hour and the cars are covered! This is gunna be a blast when I get off work at 7am! Schweet!

yeah over half a foot and counting here in alabama! crazy. whole town has shut down

It's a shame this didn't happen last month! lol I coulda put in for the Jan ROTM. lol I'm go ride the back roads and pull people out of the ditches when I get to leave. They won't make us stay all night... I just don't know when we'll get to leave.

I took this picture an hour ago. It's twice this now... All of that accumlated in less than 30 minutes. It's coming down twice as hard now...

Started snowing in Charlotte over night.. probably a good 2" or so and still coming down pretty good. Supposed to get 3-7" today, an additional 1-3" of snow/sleet tonight, and then a bit of freezing rain overnight to put a nice layer of ice on it.

Best part is that it's not supposed to get much above freezing (if at all) for the entire week...so it's not goin anywhere!!!

Wish I didn't have to go to work today...sometimes having a Jeep works against you!
 
i'm in rossville, ga. about 4 miles south of chattanooga. i got up and looked out the window this morning to find at least 8 inches. and it's still coming down. i'll post up some pics later.
