I stayed home all yesterday, but I did get out for a walk in the snow with the dogs, and saw it wasn't too bad for an XJ. I went out this morning, and the traffic was light. US 78 inside I-285 was not bad, but outside I-285 was a different story. Only one lane with tracks, and everyone crawling along. The reason was it had re-frozen from yesterday, and was very rough. I got bored, and pulled out in the "snow lane". It was mostly ice, but much smoother than the ""open lane". I passed all the crawlers, and had the road to myself. When I went to get off, I was behind a semi going 2 mph. The ramp was downhill, and covered in ice. I was tempted t pass him, but I didn't want to "ski" into the intersection (or a car). I just waited, but never had any problems. Nothing was open, so I am back home and bored again :-)

Yeah it's still a disaster out here. I live north of 78 but up above Loganville. My wifes school district, Newton County, just cancelled schools already for tomorrow and she was told it's doubtful they will have school on Thursday. They didn't get anywhere close the amount of snow down there as we did just 30 miles north of them. Crazyness.

Dude, I still think this thing is in good shape and looks good but I can't see how the hell you drive it... Is the body roll not so bad that you could reach out the window and touch the ground? It looks like if you hit a pot hole you'd get shot to the other lane... How does it drive...

I do plan to paint the body of mine like that... I love that look.

It drives like a champ, I have had no problems with the way it drives. Sway bar isn't connected either. I have yet to take offroad other than messing around on some forest service trails though. Not sure how it will handle some real trails.

I just don't see how. Mine was set-up basically the same with half the lift, much better angles on the steering and tracbar and it handled like shit. I lowered it 2inchs, put wider axles on it and went highsteer now it drives good.

So you live in Alpharetta? I didn't know they let vehicles like that be owened in Alpharetta! I work with a few people who live there and they always called me the redneck for having my XJ lifted with bumpers and lights and etc. etc. etc. on it. My usual response was "it's not a lifted F150 or Silverado" or "no, I do not go 'mud boggin".

Technically in GA, you are not allowed to lift, or lower more than 2". I have never heard of anyone getting busted, though.

I have heard it was 3" up or down but never heard of anyone actually getting a ticket for it. However, I have heard of people getting in trouble for headlights and taillights being too high.

We got disgusting ice here in the triangle. I ended up coming back from the mountains for nothing... job on Monday was postponed because of weather, and I didn't have to serve jury duty today.

Haha that pic is at my parents house and they hate when I bring it over. They alwAys tell me to get the POS out of their driveway. I wasn't about to bring the charger or the caddy out in the snow,so they will have to deal with it

LOL!!! I have owned a lifted XJ (not one but several) for probably 8 of the 11 years I've been driving and I've never had a problem with that "law".

To be honest though, I haven't had anything to compare it to. I bought it lifted and in way worse shape. It has come a long way since I bought it. Now if I drove a stock one or a mild lifted one, I would probably think mine was horrible haha.

Lol....geesh. Some people. :sure:

Where in Dawsonville do you live?

I live right off 400 and 53.

Hit me up sometime when you go out riding.

Good looking jeep you got there.

Thanks man!!! I also live off of 400 and 53 right by the Kroger there. I live down Elliot rd. I would love to get together and go riding sometime. Have you ever wheeled up near Amicalola falls?

Ok, so I'm ready for this stuff to melt already... It's all turned into ice and I keep falling down.

As much as I like snow and cold weather, I wouldn't mind a momentary break with a bit of warmer weather...for the sake of my heating bill!

Being new to this apartment, I keep forgetting that my side of the building stays in the shade all day, so no melting is occurring....which means I ususally slide right past the parking spot i'm aiming for when I come home in the evening lol.

I don't have much problem lining up with my parking spot as much as WALKING to the parking spot. I really want to start working on my Jeep but I can't with 6 inchs of snow on the ground.
