finaly got an XJ 99 limited with some stuff

Weld it in I guess... or new axle housing. Or weld a new knuckle onto the housing. Since you're looking at building custom axles I'd put a couple tack welds on the balljoint to hold it in place and kick the axle build plans into high gear.

My buddy has a tdi golf for sale

Well..... Tac weld them in, get a D60.

Turns out my Jetta tranny uhh doesn't work anymore so I'll have to get that all done before I get back to this toilet.

Well got a LOT done this weekend.
Brought the 4.0 to the shop, checked it.... Like everything is bad hahah.
2 bent rods, 2 five over pistons, bad crank, so I guess stroker????

Cleaned up some of the head and re-did the valves, polished them up while I was there.

Sunday is axle prep day it seems, stripped a D44 out of a bronco. Weird ass knuckles, can I use this in my jeep?

And another D30 HP with some odd ball knuckles as well.

I am reasonably certain that is a cast-wedge d44 (aka useless unless you want to use the ford radius arms or retube it) and those appear to be RENIX era XJ/YJ/MJ d30 knuckles. The control arm mounts and perches make it an XJ/MJ d30.

One of the most useless D44 fronts, both because it is cast wedges and because it is from a bronco.

Pretty sure its low pinion too. One of the lesser desirable front 44s

looks like an HP housing

wider than the D30 and my rear is being built to be 62/62.5 WMS. i'll be taking these cast inner C wedge contraptions off then not sure but something that doesn't suck like these. haha. only going to have $150 into the housing and everything minus the inners so i don't think it's too bad a deal.

the D44 is on the back burner for now anyway, that 30 is going in there soon and hopefully next weekend i'll have the bracket kit ready to go.

That's the problem - the axle tube doesn't go through the cast wedges, it's a separate piece on either side. If you cut the cast wedges off your axle housing ends up in 3 pieces.
