finaly got an XJ 99 limited with some stuff

What Ken said about the cast wedges with the thin tubes and hollow casting. Also, the early bronco axle also has the pumpkin more centered under the vehicle, so if you ran it as is, you would most likely run into clearance issues.

well i'll have a full bracket kit for the D30 tomorrow, build that up and stick it in. it will work fine for a lone time. also have a line on some 37 MTRs on 16in rims.

more 4.0 work Saturday, i ported the head a little bit while Alex prepped the short block to be line honed and then bored .20 over. i'll be going by the shop tomorrow to order the parts prep a few other things for the 4.0.

don't have any pics since it's dark out now but the jeep is up on a custom made jack stand so to speak so i can pull the entire front end out of it and get the new done up D30 in there.

block is all ready for line hone and bore work

ordering parts tomorrow and a case or 2 of beer for the guy to do the machine work.

made a front end stand with some extra crap i had laying around, came out ok but 2x4 box would have been much better than the 4x8 or what ever i used. the price was right so i used it.

plenty of room to swap the front end out and redo all the brake lines as i snapped off the front passenger one.

yes the bumper has shifted so we could get the support in there, it's ok and will be corrected once it's sitting on wheels again

Well my brother helped me out and pulled the rear for a buyer.

Like the usual people didn't show up and dicked him over since he stopped working on the 4.0 to pull the rear for that ass.
So at least it's read to get cleaned up under there.

I never heard of anyone powdercoating something that bounces off of rocks.

does it happen more often than I think?

This, i have no idea why you would powder coat a axle

PS i see clayton is no longer cutting down castings

Most suspension links and springs are powder coated.

Also why would I want to let something I invested thins much time into to rust or let the corrosive road salts get onto?
I think you have to wheel something hard to bounce it off rocks in the first place.

Rustoleum brush on paint does wonders, its cheap and easy to touch up

A mallcrawler built right is only a bit of heckling from being a wheeler built right... :firedevil
