January 1, 2010, some new years day snow wheeling. This was the first wheeling trip my girlfriend took with me, and the last trip for this jeep. The cage saved our skulls no doubt. crazy way to start the year and got me motivated to take more part in building the jeeps.

Sam, KTM racer. this pic is just bad ass to me, cuz a guy who drove his jeep to Cali from the east coast, and was driving it all the way back, was tossing his jeep around on one of the harder trails in Colorado. makes me want to take a trip like that as well. Kick ass guys that day, and sweet jeep.

I took a lot of shots this year that I like but this one has to be one of my favorites. We were camped along the Green River between Big Piney and LaBarge Wyoming. Decided to try a long exposure stat trails shot. I had my wife leave the tent lights on for 15 min out of the almost 30 min exposure time. It's amazing how much light got out of the tent to light up the tire on the jeep.

In May we did a members only run across the San Rafael Swell in Utah. We covered 300 miles of dirt roads in four days. To date this was one of the best trips I've ever been on.

Day three we were hunting for camp and the sun was getting low in the sky. With Factory Butte as a back ground Tom (Mtntech) made a great opportunity for a shot.

Here are mine.

This is my "epic" one. Pretty mild compared to what I am sure will show up on this thread! This was the virgin run on this XJ. I had been building her in my garage a couple hours at a time at night. At this point I was the only one that had done any work on her, so it was satisfying to see the capabilites of my handiwork. Since then I have started Phase II...4.10s and an 8.8.

This is "the other guy." This is the Xombie Jeep owned by KGP416. This shot was on the same run. He and I were running identical Jeeps...'01 Anniversary with 3.5" lifts (actually that front bumper on his came off of mine). We let him go into the water first, then Big Alpha and I found a bypass.

Well most memorable picture would be of my jeeps first time on the trail a week before I drove it from San Diego to Washington. Had a great time on the trails that day and luckly the only damage she took was some pin stripping, which was great seeing how I have no armor.

And a picture from the road trip to WA. 22 hours straight.

Launched my XJ at NACfest this year. Didn't plan on going that high, came down and broke the front HP44 diff where the driver's side tube goes into it. Thanks Clayton

Bill (RCMan) attempting Shoot the Moon at Rausch Creek. I just really like the angle of the shot, though it doesn't totally capture how off-camber and steep the climb was.

This was the last trail ride my XJ went on. I had it for 10 epic years, met a lot of neat people and saw some beautiful places. Heck, I even lived in the thing for the entire summer of 2002. NAXJA was a big part of my life that decade!

Snow runs are all about an equal opportunity for everyone to get stuck. I didn't really expect it to happen on the plowed portion of the road, good thing I was with friends because there was no driving out of this. :gee:

Yeah, it is not a wheeling pic, but this is a scene that speaks of everything an XJ is made to do. Camping in a beautiful place with great friends with everything needed to keep us comfortable and entertained. This beast of burden belongs to Rob (xjcrazed). Hole in the Rock trail is an epic ride to begin with, that particular trip was especially so thanks to the people involved. This was the last night's camp, dubbed Tech View Camp due to the availability of 3G wireless and the spectacular view of the Henry mountains. Here is my favorite pic of my rig this year, during the MWC trail Clean up last month. I wheeled the bag off of her that day and that washout was one of the harder obstacles I have done with it. It even has a one off "toothless" grill courtesy of XJosh95 for making fun of his tree hitting abilities.

Here is one of the most memorable I have taken to date. I was gonna head back to camp for lunch when I came around the corner here was Tyler(XJ&CHZ4ME) sitting like this about to go over. So I had to run around the corner and get a couple guys to come hook a strap to him. In the end, all was well and his wife didn't have to beat him senseless for rolling with her in the rig! :D

I actually got my Jeeps off pavement more in 2010 than the past few years but I didn't take a whole lot of Jeep photos. I have some good pose pictures but this really isn't about a scenic pose for me, that'd be for a different subject (of course unless it's an EPIC pose, i.e. Ryan's long exposure).

So first we'll do a picture that isn't even a month old. Shot by Spencer whose last name I don't remember as I was popping over some rocks on Lower Big Johnson in Johnson Valley. It's not really all that epic but it was nice to have the Jeep out!

The next shot kinda bends the rules of the thread but I don't care. There is a Jeep in this photo but that's not the important part, even though this is a bad shot (focus issue) it is one of my favorite trail photos of 2010 as it's a nicely composed action shot of Adopt a Trail work, a project that is very important to me. This is various SoCal Chapter members maintaining 2N04, our adopted trail in the San Bernardino National Forest.

The only reason this is the best picture of my jeep wheeling this year is because it was on jack stands for most of the year since I was re-doing it. I figured I wouldn't post one of my jeep on jack stands even though that was most of this years memories of the jeep haha.

As for my second picture, there were a lot that I liked this year from Winterfest OH-Ten. I could have chose the group shot since that group is the best group of people I have ever met. I chose to choose one jeep, its not an XJ, but an MJ which are allowed here on NAXJA haha. This is Wade (89eliminator) at Winterfest OH-Ten. I have heard a lot of people say that is a good looking MJ, must not be wheeled. I will tell you right here, he wheel's the hell out of it. :

Much much later that day:
getting only half way home from the epic, isolated, and remote Hole In The Rock Trail with an incomplete track bar bolt,
also epic. xjcrazed wheelin his beast o burden on to mbryson's trailer in Green River Utah.

He must have been backing off of that cause I know that didn't go UP that!? lol The picture makes it look like a nearly vertical 20 foot wall.

no he went all the way up. vertical is the wall directly below. otherwise it is just very steep. made it all the way up.

Yeah he did and yes its damn near vertical! I watched it! Then later he 'sploded his T-case.

hey now, why does that have to be brought up?

i was lucky enough to have a (although small) offroad park open up for about 3 months before it was shut down this year. it was 17 miles away. here is a pic from that location. i just like how stuffed the front tire is.

this is a wheelin buddy of mine. he has an extremely well built TJ. this was taken at the badlands on one of the vertical walls. when he puts his helmet on, you know its going to be good. his front tires were VERY light and i tried my best to capture that. he never did make it though.
