i now have a hole in my diff. cover and more than 4 pieces of spider gears, teeth chipped off pinion, so my wheeling days are gone till i can get $ to regear. pixs to follow as soon as i can take them.

i don't think i want to spend any time or money on the 3.55's, i will take a closer look at the pinion tonight and see how bad the teeth are, may try and round up the money to regear now.
i have 2 children for sale a mouthy 9yo and a 3yo with an 'tude.

the spider gears on the crossshaft shattered, most likely due to the way we welded them, with a 1/2 a round of play, hammering them in tellico, then on daniel was the last straw.

sorry i couldn't stick around to help with the clean-up. the funeral detail went as well as could be expected. i hope we can do some wheeling together in the future. sorry to hear about your gears. best of luck with getting it fixed.

He's runing 30" tires. But the spider gears were welded but not to the case. I think that is right.

dude, that sucks!! But here's what you should do IMO... get woody's free guts, stuff em in yours, don't weld, and call it good til you gather your regear funds. Then you can still wheel and not be bummed like me.

NO...see you misunderstood me, you're supposed to NOT be bummed like me!! Why are you worried about the carrier failing? Surely it failed because of the other failure preceeding it. Um...maybe! So just replace everything and try it again, but don't weld this time. Hell, you didn't need a rear locker anyway!

The more I read this thread the worse the news gets. When I talked to you at the parking lot at Hunt Camp things were looking pretty good. Just the spiders and sides. Now it looks like christmas will be coming early for you this year.

I'd like to help out if/when the time comes. Landis isn't too far from Raleigh/Cary. Give a shout if you need some help.
