Does anyone make and sell a body lift?

Easy guys, Jes just got his first XJ. He's needing that body lift for his 42s on D30 and D35 because those 42s rub

oops I mean D60

I've heard that shackle angles are tough to get right when using coilovers. I suppose you could use a drop spindle to offset the angle enough to get good travel, and if you used terraflex revolver shackles the angles are supposibly not even a concern, but I've never seen it in person. The harder part is trying to find the correct drop spindle for a dana 35.

Ohhhh...

Yea, I heard coilovers are way gooder.

How many horse powers do you gain with a body lift? :dunce: Will my stock ds work on a 97+ with a 6" body lift without vibes, or do I need an SYE?

Make sure you order the Polly Your Ethane body lift

How much body lift before I need an SYE?

The great thing about the body lift is that you never need an sye with it

Yes, but you might get some bumpsteer from the rear axle with anything above 3" on body lift.

Sadly no power is gained from the lift, but a reduction in wind drag will net a gain of about 2mpg. This is caused by what is called "The wind tunnel effect" In a nutshell what this does is allow airflow to flow smoothly through the grill, and be pulled by the radiator fan, since the body is moved upward a path for airflow opens up clear to the rear of the vehicle. The additional thrust allows the vehicle to cruise with less parasite drag.

The drive shaft should be ok, and you won't need the expensive SYE mod, you may need to rotate your outer C's though. I would definately, however use a 1310 series double cardan front driveshaft from a standard transmission 1988 xj for the steering.

Other concerns would be the brake lines, fuel lines, vacuum cleaner lines, but you can just cut all of those and splice in 1/4" high pressure fuel line to the correct length.

Dana 60 drop spindles can be found in a junkyard fairly easily. The ford F-350 based landscape trucks built in 1973 1/2 came with them stock and were practically a dime a dozen. Happy hunting ;)
