Coyote Canyon reminder

According to the Moab BLM's website, the new Travel Plan goes into effect on October 4th, 2008. Coyote Canyon is not in the new Travel Plan and should be considered closed.

Moab Friends For Wheelin' is working with the BLM on getting it added to the travel Plan, but that could take a few years.

Just a heads up for everyone headed to Moab next week. If anyone was planning on running it, you might want to double check with the Moab BLM field office....maybe they are behind schedule and the plan will not go into effect then.

I'd just hate to see get a bad wrap for wheeling a closed trail because we were not informed.

It's near BFE on BLM land that was 'open travel' until the new Travel Plan goes into effect.

It's actually the only trail that was lost with the new travel management plan.....which is pretty good for us

Which travel alternative did they settle on?

Alternative C was the proposed plan during the protest period that ended a month ago.....so unless they changed their mind before they record it, it should be alternative C
