haven't updated in a while, thought I would share what Ive been up to.
their have been a few changes made in the last month or so,
One thing I realized was I had some very bad axle wrap on the rear axle, I thought the leafs were the problem so I took them off and sure enough, they were shot, I had a set of leafs off a 96 ram 1500, that were in great shape, same width, and a couple inches longer, I made them work.
also put new spring perches on the axle, since I had some layin around and the stock ones on the axle were pretty bent up.
heres a pic with the new leafs, shackle angle is pretty bad, but its useable for now.
heres where the big changes came, I just couldn't get the tpi running right and was just done with it and all the bs electrical, I got a rochester quadrajet rebuilt and setup specifically for this motor, also a different fuel regulator that I could use with the pump I already had. engine bay is so much cleaner and easier to work on, not to mention how well it is running. this thing is fast!
did a little flexin with it.
also had a problem with the power steering pump bracket moving slighty and causing the belt to squeek, so I built this little bracket, problem solved.
heres some misc. shots of it around the yard, and parked up on a hill to fill up with coolant, (trying to get all the air bubbles out)
I don't know if theirs still air in the system, but its overheating a little bit still, its seen 230 and thats too hot for me, I've got the radiator off the same 96 dodge with some 16" electric fans on it that I'll probly hook up this weekend, its easily twice the size of the radiator thats on it now.
we'll see if that does it.
oh yea, finally got the grill put back together and the headlights wired up. I have some trailer lights that I found in the shop that I'll wire up too, so I have brake lights and running lights in the rear.
thats it for now, Im uploading a video right now that I'll post a little bit later.
