it's not as strong as dom but will still be fine for what we do.

Aggghh bender is on its way the time is near! Got quoted 2.98$ a foot for 18-20 ft sticks of 1=5" .120 wall DOM. Seems like an amazing friggin deal

Qty (18), 20 foot long sticks? I'm probably reading this wrong, but are you planning on caging three vehicles?

Where are you ordering through? I believe I paid $2.65/lf for 1.5" .120 wall DOM through tube service milptias. The more you buy the cheaper it is. That was for 5-6 sticks of DOM and one stick of box 2x6. $20 to have it shipped to your door.

Where'd you get your metal quote from? I could talk to my supplier here in town and see if they can get it cheaper.

Quote was from tube service in milpitas. And that was maybe a month or so ago I called and asked.. Hopefully prices have changed. And sorry for the confusion the lady told me they're not always a 20 ft stick sometimes about 18-20ft. I was going to get about 120ft

Called again yesterday for an updated quote. $2.90 a ft for 120' of 1.5" .120 Dom. And $2.65 for 200' of it.

I asked for a quote for 200' as Mike and I will both be caging.

Ok called again today and got a whole different pricing.

Hrew 1.5" .120 wall 120' @ 2.15 per ft 240' @ 2.08 a ft
DOM in the same size. 120' @ 2.58 a foot and 240' at 2.10 a ft.
seems like a no brained to get at $2.10 a foot is a bit over $500 for 240'

I spent probably 450$ in tube on my cage. Roughly 2.80$ a foot locally. I would go with DOM if I where you for the marginal increase in price. 2.58$ is a steal of a deal. Shoot, I may need to get in on this deal so I can put bobby brown in a cage.

Just a word to the wise. .120" wall dom will dent fairly easily when hit with rocks. The rule of thumb with the desert rockcrawler crowd is anything that will see rocks regularly and doesn't bolt onto your rig should be .188 or 3/16". I have .188 roof slider rails with .120 cross bars. When I rolled my rig the roof slider bar didn't bend but the same rock hit my .120 cross support on the roof and it bent.

Interesting. Unfortunately the jd2 is only rated to .120. Maybe I can convince Tim to do the main hoop with his nice fancy bender and I'll do the halo .188.

Bout to pull the trigger on 240' of Dom at $2.10 a ft and a 20$ delivery charge. It's about $525 total

With Tube Service Milpitas (which I'm assuming is where that quote is from), it doesn't matter what the material is. The more you stack on the order, the cheaper it would be for both of you.

I'll be ordering 2 sticks of .188 and 10 of .120. Anybody else interested? As of right now I have not gotten a quote for the .188. But the .120 stands at about $2.10 a ft
