Youve made my case with the race card.
The crime laws were supposedly written to be equal to all. It makes good sense. But have they turned out that way? NO.
I see the same kind of crap happening with the same sex marriage laws.

OK - we're reading from the same sheet of music now, I see.

"Equality under the Law" and "Blind Justice" just don't ring true when there is any sort of disparity, you know? Kinda like when you see a cop speeding or not using his blinker - not being on a call - knowing he can give you a ticket for doing the very same thing. They're supposed to set the example, not follow it. Until those lights and sirens go on, traffic laws apply to them as well.

I've also got issue with "Legislative Immunity" - if someone can't be held accountable when they do something stupid, what's to prevent them from doing it in the first place? Set the example, don't follow it.

Given the sort of behaviour we're seeing from pols, I'm not surprised that society as a whole is screwed. That's the example they're setting.

I dont know about your state but the hate crime law works both ways here, if you get beat up for being any color or religion then it is a hate crime and is punished as such.

There are many things that are unfair in this country, if you bring enough attention to it people will begin to care.

We allready have conveinence marriage now, ofcourse we will have it with gay marriage also.

That will be and is a serious problem and the entire reason for this issue. Once they are allowed the same rights as us they will be allowed to do the same, that's a very large part of this fight, they want (and deserve) the exact same rights and privileges as we currently enjoy.

Also there will be no quenching of heterosexual marriage rights, it's all about equality, not preference.

So do you think that a legalized perverted marriage between two people of the same sex will require all churches to provide marriage services for said couples, even if it goes against that particular churches beliefs? And will it also eventually lead to the criminalization of certain Bible texts that clearly teaches homosexuality is wrong?

The different churches and religious beliefs have nothing to do with the issue. They can refuse to perform or acknowledge any marriage they want to and it shouldnt have any impact on the law. Its now the churches right to refuse to preform any wedding, I dont know why that would have to change.

I hear this argument often, there are few reasons to come up with so the same ones get regurgitated often.
Why would the churches be forced to do something? We are talking about rights, it's their right to get married AT A PLACE THAT WILL DO IT and its the churches right to not perform it, the gays can fom their own church that will do it and refuse man-woman weddings if they want.

Basic rights people, there is a few valid reasons but for the most part its "what if" reasons. I would like to hear a really valid reason for once.

No.

Who really gives a shit?

Let the gays get married so they can be as miserable as the rest of us.

Don't worry, your church won't be forced to marry gays. Churches are still considered private, and there for can be as prejudiced as they feel like being.
You won't have gays and lesbians or transsexuals marching up and down your aisles rubbing your nose in their lifestyle and no one is going to try and force your children to be become queer.

Unless you have a really hot child, then I'll try.

Last time I checked, you didnt need a church OR a bible to get married.

We can only hope he was referring to making a hot girl = a hot lesbian....

Carry on!

LOL....I was wondering when you'd put in your 2 cents worth....of popcorn :D

Ok help me out here, I sure want to have my head on straight the next time I visit Calif. and try to blend in.

First I heard they're going to run all the Mexicans off? Should I be careful how much I allow myself to tan?
Then they are all gonna get stoned, congratulate themselves on all the jobs now available for true Americans, eat something and take a nap? If I apply for work while they are napping, will I be deported too?
Do they still serve Mexican food in California?
I heard it's considered blasphemous to speak of religion?
My children will be bombarded with television and talk about how cool it is to be gay. Is there an approved drug I can give them to make them blind and deaf or should I look for a dealer?
If some drunk Homo grabs my crank in a bar and I tell him to stop, then slap him across his love lips when he refuses, I'll be charged with a hate crime?
If some gal or guy flashes his or her naked crotch at me and I look, I'm a pervert and will be charged with public indecency?
It's against the law to drink a beer in public, but joints are OK?
No smoking cigarettes, cigars or tobacco pipes in the state of California? If you get caught you will be deported, children are encouraged to turn in there parents for smoking tobacco?
I also heard they are trying to pass a law, that legalizes sex in public as long as it is between consenting adults. The are talking about lowering the age of majority to 13, heck the girls can already get there own abortions and birth control pills. Next year all bongs will be required to pass a smog test? And they are proposing to ban Coke machines as being unhealthy?
Anything I'm forgetting, I sure want to blend in my next visit. Should I travel naked or with clothes on?

I think that religion and politics are the two top evils in today's society, I've come to the conclusion that it's best I stay out of these topics. I will only post my popcorn response.
And this thread is a classic example of both!

Carry on.....again!

Look at it this way, it will make judgment day just that more entertaining while we wait for our turn....

"Well everyone was doing it and the court said it was ok...."

It is great when people are loving each other it's that pesky "sex" bit that gets us into trouble.

Hmmm who will be the next group that wants to be able to legally marry? :moon:

Oh! Second marriage, 16 years, and it's great!

You sir, are a tool. Take your sensationalist attitude and go somewhere, anywhere, else. We don't want you.

Re: California takes a step back wards!

That argument would work better if the gays were trying to establing a "pecking" order or if we were talking about being shacked up with Bubba in Prison...:) However, human homosexuals aren't trying to aid in the "survival of the species" or establish who's the boss, for them it is about sexual gratification, thus the goals and motivations are very different and the two examples don't really relate to each other.
