Do a Megan's law search and see how many litle red dots come up for your area, you'll be surprised...

That is scary. About a hundred of them in my county and two child sex offenders in my subdivision. One of them molested a male 0-5 yrs of age, the other a female 6-12 yrs of age.
I have probably waved at these pervs as I walk around the neighborhood.
Cant say Im really surprised though.

You shouldnt respect those who fear the Christian God - he's supposed to be a loving God. (Christian) God fearing people have other issues they're hiding (guilt?)

And just who is being intolerant of Christians? Are we advocating banning churches or forcing policy changes? No. Saying that your religion should have no say in every body's laws is not intolerance, it's patriotism.

I hear what you are saying Sequoia, and would agree that I do not want a religion established by our congress. But that is not what we are talking about here. The same amendment that precludes a state run religion, also protects the free exercise of religion from with in the state. Which one of my Fathers Ten Commandments should we exclude from the the law here in America, the ones we think are good, none of them, or just the ones we don't agree with? And which teachings of Christ should the state ignore? You see, our laws are derived from God. With out Him, we would have no peace, and no rights at all. :)

LOL

Old Testament God right there....depends which part of the Bible you are looking at (Old or New)

...and that, 5-90, is one reason why I have issues with certain religions (not gonna name any here though, I'd get persecuted)

Kinda contradicting yourself there aren't you? Or do you mean that Christians are the only ones who are free to exercise religion in the state?

That is something that I do not nor can believe.

I'm not a believer, never have been (raised heathen), and I'm perfectly peaceful, honest, and all that.

And the commandments that should never been included in law are the ones that make reference to the religion, obviously prohibitions against murder should stay on the books ;)

God looked down from heaven, and saw that man had sinned. He gave man a set of rules so that man could live in peace with one another. Man could not do this. So God sent messengers to warn man, but still man could not live in peace. God does love us, but because He is Holy, He can not allow sin to exist.

So its not that God sends anyone to hell because they sin, people are already separated from God because of sin. When they die, they will be eternally separated from God, and His love, forever. The fact that God allows man to live a short time here on earth in rebellion is what amazes me the most. God does not need to take our advice. He is God, and His ways are not our ways. That is why we should fear Him. :)

And God has demonstrated His love for us, in that while we were still in our sin, Christ died for us. The righteous, for the unrighteous. For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son, that who ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The only sin God will never forgive is to turn away in your heart from His Son, and His offer to forgive your sin through the sacrifice of His Son, in your place and mine. :)

I respect your comments, and would have no problem being a friend to an honest man like yourself. :)

Youll bet MY soul? Who the fuck do you think you are? you are not that important and you have no power over anyones soul, no matter what you think about yourself. its people like you that make the church and organized religion as worthless as it is. People like you arent in it for faith, your in it for the power you think you get over other people. You think your better then everyone else and getting to tell people what they need to do to be as perfect as you makes you feel special. I bet you have some sick perversions and some disturbing dreams that lead to the insecurities and make you overcompensate the way you do.

I dont care what you beleive in but dont let it inconvenience others. I dont push my beleifs on you or anyone else, you have no idea what my beleifs are you know why? because I dont tell you what to do and I dont try to push all my stuff on you.

I have problems with a lot of peoples mentallity and life style in this country, I dont try to make them do what I beleive is the way I would like to live.
I'd be willing to bet Trail Axe has no belief that he has any power over your soul. Calm down. I'm sorry you feel religion is worthless. But to point a contradiction in your post, you claim not to be pushing what you believe on anyone, but here you are saying how religion is worthless and letting your viewpoint color your response to the point of coming out and saying that because he's religious, he must have something terribly wrong with him. That's such a load of bull I don't even know how people who believe that way can manage to think coherently. You say religious folk are small-minded and intolerant and all the rest of you are so enlightened and tolerant. It's really our own fault that religion is being attacked. But all I ever hear on here when someone mentions religion in any context is how big a crutch it is and how stupid it is, its a fairy tale and no different than a magical stoned hippie dragon. The people who immediately say how dumb and wrong religion is are no different than what you're trying to say is wrong with religious people like myself. I think gay marriage is wrong, you think a religious society is wrong. Where's the difference?

One thing that always irritates me is people who fly off the handle and get all mad and can't help but cuss on this, our open to the public, no flaming, no cussing forum. As much as I enjoy a good debate like we're getting here with some of the people, I almost would rather see this thread go away than to keep having people goin off. If you're going to post in a thread in Non-Tech keep the swearing out! Mind you, this isn't the only post, just the one I choose to pick on...

Yes. I can marry any female I want to, we dont need to be having sex and she can get on my insurance and my pension and we can file taxes together and so forth. Think I could do that with you??? I think not.
All Im saying is that if you want to make same sex marriage a legal institution, that should go for heteros as well as homos and that creates alot of problems that this country isnt ready for.
Just as an aside, at least here in CA, it's been possible to claim same sex partners on your health insurance for a few years now...

Mr Train driver, I respect your feelings toward my God. It does not upset me the least bit that you hate the God I have come to love. Now, besides being filled with hate for the God I love, do you have anything positive to add to this discussion?

That "reverse the deal for fairness" thing is certainly true - if a black kid pulls a knife on me and I clobber him, I had damned well better be able to prove self-defence so I don't get socket with a "hate crime" in addition to assault charges. If I let him cut me (not likely, to be honest...) he just goes up for assault & battery, and possibly ADW as well. No "hate crime" - but I could get sent up for one, unless it's very clear that it's self-defense.

Look at the recent cases where a black man was shot by mistake - this last one, wasn't Al Sharpton threatening to shut the City of New York down in protest? Why don't you see that sort of thing happening when a white person is shot by mistake? You know it happens - but if it happens to a black man, it gets more ink.

This disparity must be done away with - in all cases!
Hell, I'm black and I agree. Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and their ilk always piss me off. I have very rarely ever seen either one with something worthwhile to complain about.

I have no problem with two men wanting to have a "homosexual union" or Marriage whatever the hell you wanna call it, but just last week two guys got fired from my plant for having "sexual relations" in the Men's Room. Keep that shit at home thats all i gotta say. I heard the cleaning ladies had to clean up some uh "naval officers" if you get my drift off of the floor too.:shiver:

Man i hate those two guys. call a bunch of women nappy-headed hoes and they go off the deep end. Talking about some oh thats racist. Get over it man. I have a few black friends that would agree with me on that. :dunno:

Even if they are heterosexual? Suppose you wanted to claim me. Thats what I was getting at. Even though gay couples may be allowed on each others insurance, would straight "couples" be allow? Im saying probably not, and thats where I have a problem. Whats good for one should be good for another.
