i want to get a 6" lift and run 33x10.50x15 tires...10yrs ago i had an 89 xj and had 33"bfg bajas and had a tomken 6'lift...it worked great in the desert out in barstow, ca...i see there are many, many more choices..I'm getting back into xj's again....budget is $1600 for tallest and most working wheel travel suspension. I don't want anything drop-down..we don't do that in desert racing---i want wheel travel...i checked the tomken 6" (price has gone up about $400 since last one purchased) WHAT is the best kit????? thank you for the help.....

Since your a desert racer, you probibly will want a long arm set up for soaking up the high speed stuff. Personally from installing just about every kit out there ( im a wrench ). I would check into Claytons long arm kit or the Full Traction long arm kit. Stay away from the Rubicon Express long arm, nothing fits properly. BUT... If you choose to stick with the short arms the best kit is the Rubicon Express 5.5 Xtreme duty with drop brackets. Or do like most of us do and peice a hybrid kit together using a myrid of parts from different manufacturers. Best of luck, and enjoy your new XJ.

Scott.
