Bought a house

Congrats.

Is the yard big enough for a wrenching party?

Eagle,

It has a brand new detached 30x30 garage w/ a second floor for storage. The guy we bought the house from was retired and built the garage 2 years ago because his hobby of restoring MG's had outgrown the 2 car garage attached to the house. I can wait to put my first opil stain on the floor...........

Congrats on the house. My wife and I bought our first house two years ago and got to learn all sorts of new stuff on upkeep (its 104 years old). The plus side is I now have a 2 story carriage house to keep my toys in. Wish I had a modern concrete floored garage though.

BTW: I have an old MG habbit as well, let me know if you find any old MG parts around. :D

Good luck with it, have fun in your new garage.

OOOOO, nice find with the detached garage. I'm jealous. Enjoy it!

I bought a house and move into it at the end of August! Now how do I find time to play with the jeep :wow:

Congrats... party1:

How much property do you have.. I think the mud pit in backyard works well.

Having a house is great, all the hard work included, after dealing with a couple of years in a townhouse , I welcome the yardwork and snow removal, and most important the ability to do wtf I want in my driveway ;-)

Copperhead, I'll keep my eye out for parts, right now he has 3 type-D's in various state of restoration though all look almost finished.

EMT Jeepers, we have about .9acre. I think the only time we'll have a mud pit in the back is if the septic system overfilows, plus its rather tight in back. However, we sit at the top of a hill and have about 200-300yard taboggan run; hopefully it will snow!

Art, we know your pain. After living the past two years in a condo in Cambridge it will be nice to be able to do what we want to our house and muck up our driveway!!!

oops, i guess i did this all backwards. I bought a house last month with a detached garage, and I am buying my first jeep today. The main draw for the house was my neighbor, his garage is bigger than his house. I figured I had to get the jeep quick, so that the wife will become familiar with me being in the garage for hours.......

I'm a little late on this post.. but I had to comment. A good friend of mine has a small house and built a garage that is at LEAST 4x the size of his house.

Nick --

Before you move anything into the garage, I strongly advise cleaning down the concrete floor and coating it with a couple of coats of epoxy paint. If you don't oil spills will become a permanent part of the floor, but the epoxy will make it very easy to clean up.

Eagle,

I was thinking of that too. I have been looking around, but can only find residential strength coatings. Any one out there have any suggestions on a very durable caoting????
