You're linking NOx emissions with global warming and I'm referring to air quality indexes. Ozone formations at ground level are a direct result of NOx emissions in urban areas. It has nothing to do with global warming, and I'm not linking NOx or CO emissions to global warming. Both of which are mitigated by catalytic converters. Why do you think cats were mandated by the US EPA back in the 80's. Do you think that they were worried about global warming back then? If so, you're sadly mistaken. Read up on the Clean Act and why it was passed into law by the government.

Does anyone in this entire thread even know just how a cat works. and if so just how much of a reduction it makes on the level of emissions the engine outputs. and i don't mean you can go to Wikipedia and cut and paste an answer. Federal law or not each state has the right to vary it as their legislation sees fit. You should leave the guy alone and just drop it. he wants help with his build up. some of you might be able to get your heads out of your pompas asses long enough to remember how it was when you first started wheeling and building your rigs.

Look, the fact of the matter is that 'you' make 'my' air worse to breath when you take a cat of 'your' vehicle. If enough of 'you' take 'your' cats off 'your' vehicles, 'you' make the air worse for all of 'us' to breath. The bottom line is, I don't agree with every law passed, and nobody here does. I don't believe I am making ANY appreciable effect by toolin around without cats. If EVERYONE drove around without cats then maybe it would make some difference but they don't, because not very many people bother modding their vehicle period.
