bilstein 5150's vs. fox shox vs. ome's vs. rubicon mono tubes

The Foxes or Bilsteins are by far superior have used them all on Off-Road cars, what is nice is they will valve them custom for you and you can change the valving later if its not perfect. I run 2.5 Kings front is dialed, the rear needs some re-valving and I just take them off and they will re-valve a couple times for free, Huge benefit if you really want to take advantage of a correct valved shock. Spend the money and you wont be sorry, It will blow you away how much better they are.

One of the locals got some edlebrocks. He ran them for one run. :)

He tries to give them to everyone who comes over to visit...

my question is which shock will be better for high speed fire roads and low speed trails.

these shocks will be used with a re long arm kit at 5.5" or 7.5"

Just remember, even though you may have a perfectly valved shock, cheap small shocks will fade into useless crap!

Looking at the fox shocks what if any are the pro's or cons of the "emulsion" shocks.

I would go F-O-A they are 2.5's and $200 for resevoir. And have stood up so far very good.

emulsion means theres no divider between the oil and the nitrogen, (also means they are not a reservoir shock, so will heat up quicker)
it also means shaft side down.....

having never heard a review of the edelbrock shocks.... it doesnt surprise me one bit that they are garbage.... the way they present themselfs is pretentious and... cheap.

my vote goes for
under 120$...... bilstein
over 120$ fox, 0R bilstein 7100s

I have run the Bilstein's in various forms. ex 5150's are ok for normal off road and light rock crawling. 7100's I ran for 1.5 years and liked them a lot, just getting the valving dialed in is key.. I will be trying a set of Fox's soon due to the craftsmanship of the components. If you can afford it go with a set of rebuildable shocks like the 7100's or the Fox 2.0's.. You cant loose..
